Toronto Ripley's Aquarium

Going to take a quick day trip up there tomorrow with the family. Any suggestions for other stuff to check out, places to park etc?

Going to buy tickets online for the aquarium and CN Tower. Beyond that I have no plans other than GPS directions.

If you go, you want to get there right at opening, otherwise you will be waiting 2+ hours to get in.

I’m sure you saw my pictures, it’s an amazing time up there.

The Eaton Center mall is cool, but only if you like shopping.

Think the wait will be that bad on a Friday morning?

And I despise shopping. Amazon.com > *.mall.

My wife and kids went there monday. It was glorious to be home alone when I got back from work.

I’ve been to the one in Gatlinburg, TN and it was surprisingly cool. But there were no crowds to contend with.

Is it going to be during spring break? If so, yes. That place is busy considering it is a Toronto too.

If it is nice out take a walk on their bike path at the waterfront. Then reflect on what ours could be. Then take meds for the depression caused by this reflection. haha

Their art gallery (AGO) is amazing.

There’s lots to do around here.

This will help: http://www.seetorontonow.com/

you’re going on Good Friday, which is a holiday, in early spring… you will be lucky if you only wait 2 hours.

stroll through yorkville if you want to window-shop crazy expensive shit.

eaton centre is a good mall, probably the best you’ll see around here save for NYC for all the regular shizz.

drive around and guess the prices of residential real estate… it will make you appreciate living in buffalo.

housing anywhere within 15 minute of downtown is 15 times moreexpensive than Buffalo… maybe more.

750sq ft attached semi with no driveway on a one-way street that has never been updated??? that’ll be $600,000 please.

Whenever i go to that area of Toronto i park on the corner of Simcoe and front st. the parking is $20 for all day (until 6). You are close to the CN Tower/Ripleys and a 15 minute walk to the Eaton Centre. I do recommend going to the old spaghetti factory. Good food, reasonable price.

Shockingly prices in Toronto were near NYC levels.

yeah some of it just doesnt compute.

This place is across the street from a small place my brother rents ( for $1800 a month for the upper 1.5 floors of a crappy house)… $1M for a 22x94ft lot with no parking attached to an auto-mechanic… gimme a break… the place is a rat box.

Legendary Motorcars

Got there just after 9 and walked right in (pre paid tix FTW). Really cool aquarium.

Then hit up the CN Tower, kid loved the glass floor but the wife would only stand next to it. Walked around King St, grabbed pizza for lunch then moved over to the waterfront.

Only part that sucked was the hour wait at the bridge to get home. Better than the 2-3 hour waits at the other 2 bridges though.

sounds like a good trip.

next time leave the kids at home, spend the night and check out yorkville, queen east, little italy, kensginton, st lawrence market etc.

^ That sounds pretty terrible. I’m not a trendy section of the city person. Give me a hike out in the woods over that any day.

As promised, videos:
