I went to Trader Joes in Chicago…thought it was over priced and the selection sucked. Budwey’s is also pretty shitty. It’s like two blocks from me and I would rather go to Wegman’s.
I have found the pricing better than Tops.

Amherst is one giant cluster fuck already, TJs is not going to make it that much worse.
Hah, I’ve been to that one many times.
The pricing at Trader Joe’s is usually cheaper than Wegmans for most things. For instance, I can get a bag of pecans for $5.99 at TJ’s, same size bag is $7.99 at Wegs. Morningstar Farms vegetarian stuff is usually cheaper by $.50. Their frozen foods section has a lot of good stuff, their coffee is good and mostly cheaper than Wegmans, and a lot of their pre-made stuff is creative, fresh, and priced cheaper than Wegmans.
I usually do my shopping at Pittsford Wegmans, so it’s nice to get it all done in one trip. I get the basics at Wegmans and pick up the stuff I know is cheaper at Trader Joe’s plus a few specialty items here and there like bacon stuffed ravioli and frozen falafel.
Once the state finished up that overhaul of the 290 ramp/NFB/Ridge Lee intersection the traffic hasn’t been that bad by that plaza. During the xmas shopping season it’s awful but traffic is awful near any shopping area.
Weinstein already said the development plans show additional parking. That plaza is a good fit for TJ with B&N, EMS, Panera Bread and Chipottle already there and Pier One right across the street.
Next xmas that section is going to be the suck though.
I avoid that area like the plague. The traffic signals SUUUUUUCK. It’s like stopping at every damn light. During Xmas season, forget about it.
Normally it’s fine, but between Thanksgiving and Christmas it’s terrible.
I tried to go there a few days before Christmas and literally spend half an hour going down NFB to Maple and couldn’t get into the Plaza. I took Maple to Millersport and gave up.
It always sucks and EMS has lost a lot of my business since they closed in Hamburg. I would have nonstop road rage if I lived in that area.
I was super happy to hear about this on the radio yesterday
If you listen carefully you can hear Byron Brown crying about how he wished he had the problem of a booming commercial district and new big name national stores coming to add to the traffic problems.

Trader Joe’s opened this morning in Amherst or whatever they call that area. I will actually be in the north towns this weekend maybe I will stop by if it isn’t too crazy. :tup:
