Travelling to Milan for work. Protips?

Taking my first trip to Europe for work solo. To be honest Im a little nervous since the only place Ive ever traveled outside of the US is Canada and the Caribbean.

I have things like my phone setup, and a power adapter, copies of any documents I might need on my phone, google drive, etc.

Any tips on anything? Driving etc. Maybe something I should try to see if I have time to escape the fab? ( I did notice the Alpha museum is located right between the airport and my hotel)

Thanks!

Dan

Keeping things car related:

My checklist for international travel:

Let your bank know you’re travelling.
Give copies of your documents and itinerary to family back home.
Health insurance documents.
Google translate or business cards with addresses in multiple languages to make sure you get to where you’re going.
International data/text/calling on my phone.
Cables and adapters for international outlets.
Multiple copies of passport and visa, kept separate from each other (one in my wallet, one in one suitcase, another in a laptop bag, etc.).
Probiotics, cause who knows what food you’ll eat.
Medicine kit to deal with altitude or other environmental issues (smog anyone?).
Throw away items (cheap sunglasses, cheap watch, cheap socks/shoes, etc.).

Chances are, you’ll be ok without some of this list. I travel to China and Mexico for work, not always the nicest locations either.

I have that list covered pretty well. Thanks for the input!

I wouldn’t worry. The two main things are to never let your passport out of your sight, and make sure you have at least two credit cards that have been notified of your travel.

Most people in Italy speak some english, especially the educated. It’s helpful to cache google maps on your phone for the areas you plan to visit. Have fun.

Drive an hour and a half north to Lake Como and see where they make Moto Guzzi’s.
