10 years ago would put us right smack into UBRF days in which case everyone was bashing riced out mufflers on a daily basis not a great defense

yeah… I put a LOT of passes on that car and was the fastest NA 4th gen in a world for a bit. managed to get it down to a 14.2 with something like 177whp. sounds lame now, but was a big deal back then.

That HKS exhaust is reasonable for that car considering when it was done… it’s not fashionable anymore but the car is also crazy fast (when josh isn’t driving it :)) so that also affords it some leeway.
I dont know that there are any better options out there in the aftermarket though… might have to take a trip to filthy habits for dual Trust DD style pipes
So the reason I picked this exhaust way back in the day was because it was simply the best flowing exhaust made for the car. I didn’t care that it looked strange, it was part of the appeal and a very “Japanese” style at the time. Anyone who knew these cars back then would know it was a “go” over “show” exhaust decision.
I do have an idea that I’ve had floating around in my head to replace it. I’ve talked to @BREETIME about some sort of trapezoidal tips a-la Koenigsegg:
