Truck recommendations for around 7k

Lookin at getting a truck later this summer for a DD. Only must have is a/c and 4x4. I’m leaning towards an f150 but only based on looks. I know my price range is going to get me a late 90’s early 00’s with around 100k on it. I’m only going to really use it for lowes/home depot trips and the occasional motorcycle in the bed. So reliability is obviously my #1 factor here. I don’t need to tow small towns and gas mileage doesn’t really matter since my g/f has a car and I ride the bike in the summer. I see that there are quite a few f-150s on craigslist with “new” motors installed around 120k…anyone have an idea what that could be?

Also not looking for a base model or “work truck”. What would your choice be? Ram? F-150? Chevy 1500?

I posted up a 2000 GMC Sierra with gorgeous custom paint. I talked with the owner for a bit too. He painted it and has the paint code written down at home. It has 4 coats of base tan, 3 of metallic gold, 4 of pearl, 4 of clear, etc, etc or whatever it was.Truck looks amazing in the sunlight. It WAS a 4x4 but he converted it to a 4x2, but some of the hard parts are still there. Not sure what it would take to get it to a 4x4 status again. 5.3 liter V8 LSx motor, a few goodies, has an air tank and battery in the bed in a custom box for the air suspension in front.

I’ll be watching this… As I’ll be looking for a truck for… the exact same thing, actually.
with the same price range, lol.

except i won’t be hauling a bike from time to time ;p
and I want diesel for a future svo conversion.

I’ll be driving this in the winter, I don’t wanna be upset when I smash into a snowbank doing donuts. It is a sharp truck but wouldn’t do me any good.

pick up a taco, can get an 00 with under 100,000 in your range… and when you go to sell it in a couple years it will have held its value

i bought my 2003 f250 crew cab 4x4 fully loaded a few months ago for this price…with 105k
