I will keep this in mind with the MKS lease expiring late next year, too bad Basil doesn’t do Cadillac, a ATS looks appealing to me.
There are some really great lease deals on the ATS right now
You must have missed his update.
What did I miss?
ok nm went and read the Basil vendor board and I see what you are talking about, I will definitely keep this is mind now.
basil bought jim ball Cadillac and gmc
That blue ray color is the sex, anyone who is not familiar with the 1LEs should bone up, they destroy the BOSS 302s
Boss 302 has forged internals from the factory. Otherwise I’d take a 1LE
There’s a reason why Ford wouldn’t lend a BOSS 302 to Motor Trend for its comparison with the 1LE. A solid axle can only do so much around a racetrack. Sure it has forged internals and a fantastic engine, but it’s not like LS3’s are blowing up left and right. I was looking for a BOSS 302, but by the time I got real serious, their production run had ended. The only realistically priced BOSS that I found was yellow. I hate yellow.
fixed.
The 1LE is within 1 second of the GT500:
Auction.
Does the 1LE come with the CNC-ported LS3 cylinder heads and LS7 camshaft? Cool to see factory backed performance parts.
Great looking car
Cool buy
I have some CNC ported LS3 heads in the shop im not attached to. Jus sayin.
I have too many LS parts
They don’t come with those parts, they are just available. I probably wouldn’t use a LS7 cam in a LS3 though, but that’s just me.
I just scrolled down that link, lol. Camaro vs Mustang is a slaughter. If anyone needs proof of the benefits of independent rear suspension versus a well sorted live axle, there you go:
2:57.5 CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 580hp, weighs roughly 4100lbs
3.00.6 FORD SHELBY GT500 662hp weighs roughly 3900lbs
^^3.1 seconds is an embarrassment, a ZL-1 is about $10k cheaper
3:01.5 CHEVROLET CAMARO SS 1LE 426hp weighs roughly 3850lbs
3:02.8 FORD MUSTANG BOSS 302 LAGUNA SECA 444hp weighs roughly 3600lbs
1.3 seconds better. 1LE’s can be had for $37k, BOSS Laguna Seca’s were $49k
I think you’ll love the car Joel, straight lines are for kids, curves are where it’s at
I already do love it! I’m going to disagree on the straight line part though. There’s a lot more to going down a dragstrip then stepping on the gas. I’d like to do an autocross or something, but I fear that will be addictive. I bought this car just to cruise with, but we all know how plans go right out the window once we get a taste of something, lol. This car is not easy to launch. The clutch has a lot of travel. Once it’s moving the shifting is great, but the rev limiter or fuel cutoff is ridiculously low. Like 6100-6200 or something. I’m probably going to do a few bolt-ons to keep it simple. If I hate the 6th gen Camaro when it comes out in 2016 then i’ll go hog wild with this one, but if I like the next gen, I might trade it in. I’d like a Z/28 but the price point on it is supposed to be over $60k which is crazy.
I enjoyed drag racing but IMHO it is not for me, you sit around for hours waiting to make a few runs, you subject your car to alot of abuse all for 10-11-12 seconds of fun, taking the twisties is alot more fulfilling , alot easier on the car and its free! Not talking auto x or anything, actual track time is expensive and hard on the vehicle but finding some nice deserted country roads and taking a romp is priceless…
from what I’ve “seen”/rumored I’m not feeling the 6th gen so far, the Z28 IS awesome as hell but yeah I bet it will push $75k
So the your talking about driving like a dick on the street lol
