So I was playing around with my car tonight and I pulled the valve cover off. Just pissing around mostly. But when I went to put it back on I dropped a bolt and I had to pull my intercooler piping and my intake tube off to get at it. This gave me a good look at the turbo for the first time. I snapped some pics of it (will post later) so I could get an idea of what this is. On the face of the turbo it says Garret and AR48. The AR48 has something to do with the exhaust inlet size? I did a quick google of it and found it mostly corresponds with T3 turbos. Does this mean that my turbo prob isn’t stock for this car? Didn’t CA’s come with a T25? Also the propeller looks to be something like a double fin design. The only turbos I’ve ever dealt with are on diesel trucks and my turbo looks nothing like those. Any help on this would be great! Thanks. Will post pics right away.
that is ur genuine stock ca18det nissan turbo! the A/R .48 is the size of the compressor housing, that is a t25 turbo, its stock! and the dual fin design is a normal thing for allot of turbos Stock or not, the SR turbos are dual fin, ca and RB aswell!
Hmmm, I should go look at mine. Positive its stock. Maybe when it gets warmer out.
Matt did you ever get your fuel economy thing fixed? I’m not getting very good econmy on my car, but I’m still cleaning it up (replacing filters and vacuum lines).
No not yet I’ve been pretty broke (yay tomorrows payday) But hopefully over the next week or so I’m hoping to get it all done. What kinda mileage are you getting in your car?
Boy did I have a bit of a scare though, I took off a hose to my intake and the clamp flew out of the pliers, bounced off my face and landed in the compressor housing of my turbo. I was sure glad that I could just take that elbow off and get at it.
Thanks for the info I wasn’t sure if it was stock or not but now I know
Heh, propeller.

I’m gettin bad mileage too, Like 6-8 km/L if im lucky, Ive changed all my filters, new oil, new plugs, new thermostat. And ive been drving it really nicley, barely ever gettin on the throttle hard. I just dont know what else to do. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to voice them.
Sounds like drity or leaky injectors I would get them cleaned and in that doenst help try replacing or rebuild them
