Turbochargers

Hey everyone im thinking about gettin my eclipse turbocharged. I wanna do it myself as a learning experience. I am just curious if I could find a kit for under a 1000, and could you share any helpful info if you’ve done it before.

Thanks,

Alex

The turbo one will be enough of a learning experience on its own.
Keep the N/t for as a nice, d.d.
w/e you do don’t go with an ebay turbo…
Check out dsmtalk for some more detailed info.

im judging by your profile you have the newer 3g eclipse with a 3.0 v6 so therefore:

4g63t>6G72

The 6G72 is a 3.0 L (2,972 cc/181 cu in) engine. Bore is 91.1 mm (3.59 in) and stroke is 76 mm (3.0 in). SOHC 12-valve, SOHC 24-valve, and DOHC 24-valve versions have been produced.

The latest version was used in the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and Galant. Output in 2004 was 210 hp (157 kW) at 5500 rpm with 205 ft·lbf (278 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm. It has a cast iron engine block and aluminum SOHC cylinder heads. It uses MFI fuel injection, has four valves per cylinder with roller followers and features fracture-split forged steel connecting rods

Hear is a good start to building your own turbo kit:

Good luck.

My mistake. Sorry no love for 6G72’s on 'talk.

Try www.club3g.com for help with the Op’s car.

Here goes an early 90’s plymouth duster with a 6g72 12 valve that makes 500+ whp lol. Same basic block but alot has changed on these engines since then. He has a build thread on turbododge.com
