TurboCiv's Dyno Day - This Friday the 6th.

Here’s my novice question of the day. Are you guys saying that stock heads would produce more HP than what’s on there?

It depends? If the 317s are milled/ported/whatever and what cam you have.

Not knowing what is on the car its hard to say

Usually people put 317s on because of the larger combustion chamber lowering the compression for boost.

My truck made 266/295 stock and with cai made 278/320

Cars were making power but was perfect weather for dyno. Freezing cold and dry as hell

I agree. As much as I wanted it to be warmer, it was nice dyno weather.

As LZ said not necessarily but typically 317 heads are a cost effective way to lower compression on a stock motor. Someone should take a look at the block in your car to see if it is factory. Either way it is making great power and drives nice so enjoy.

I am enjoying the car a lot more. I’ve since realized its much easier to just start in 2nd from a dead stop. I can keep the RPMs lower and it doesn’t sound like I’m trying to race everyone at each light. Still have a couple unresolved issues I need to take care of (02 sensors, active handling, driver information buttons) but otherwise it has driven very solid. I would still probably sell for the right price, but I’m also just as happy keeping it at least for the summer.

It might just need the rear oxygen sensors turned off since it has headers possibly.

Just posted this. Most of you guys seem to be very technically inclined and probably wouldn’t be interested, but there may be a couple that aren’t. Or maybe someone just doesn’t feel like wiring up their shop/house.

don’t be foolish my fine friend. we all know That hackin tha old muffler off of the neon and “clamping” a thrush cherry bomb/coffee can gives you a minimum gain of 30hp and 25lbtq… now if you add some rims it goes was faster also =)
