I have a 52" rear projection TV. It’s been moved 3-4 times through its life span, which I’m sure might be part of the problem. Up until now, I always used regular RCA’s and everything was fine. Well know I got PS3, I hooked it up to my DVI port and the colors fine except the top left corner. In the top left corner they get out of whack. Component cables result in the same issue. I have tried all the color adjustment settings but since it’s only in one corner, there’s nothing I can do.
Should I call a TV repair shop to come out and look at it? Is this something I can fix myself?(probably not) Is it even fixable?
You need to find out how to get into the service menu and learn how to align the color guns. It’s not that hard, just time consuming. Basically it puts up a grid pattern and you align each color to the grid.
Do a search on convergence for you model tv on google.
You should check out avsforums they probably have already answered this for you. I had a problem with a samsung HD CRT and 20 minutes on that site + a trip to the service menu and bam the TV looked better than new.
Found out there’s a hidden setup menu in this TV. Upon entering the menu, they give you a 15x13 grid. You can select any section of the grid and any color and then align it to within color range spec. I don’t have it perfect yet, but I can now play GT5P in HD!!!
