Howards motor NEVER BLEW!!! his stock motor is sitting in the shop and his built motor is still in the car.
An ls6 is wayyyyy cheaper than a ls7, there for the vette tax is more for an ls7. An APS TT kit is alot more than 6500.00! and if you can find me one for 6500 for an ls7 c6 z06 ill take one!!!
That blue z that they just finished made nice mumbers something like 640rwhp w/ low boost, cats on the car and a restrictive exhaust. It has to beable to pass emmisions and appeal to everyone, not just a kid like me that likes there car loud as hell.
Cartek is a good place, actually Howard works w/ carlos and julio there still to this day. The TT install is pretty straight forward, if cartek or vette doctors installed it i doubt they would make anymore power, do your research, check out all the stock block c6z! And by the way grab the newest issue of GMhightech magazine and look at the 10pg spread that Howard got on the TT install.http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/tech/0902gmhtp_2006_chevrolet_corvette_z06_twin_turbo_kit_install/index.html
what deters people from this kind of “special edition” is that its not offered by Chevy and thats its a one time dealy thing. i would like to know what kind of warrenty this dealership is offering on this car. thats a big thing.
my mistake its not 6500 its was 6200 but here is the pm i got from a vendor about this deal…’
"The price for the C5 base kit which does not have the fuel system, normal price is $7345.00 plus shipping from Australia, our price is $6250.00 plus shipping from Australia. Plus Install, and tuning.
Depending on if you have any mods on the car already you may need the following.
The 60 lb Injectors are $550.00, and the boost a pump is $230.00 plus shipping.
Since you are in Albany NY, check with Howard over at Redline Motorsports, he is also running the same special and will save you on some shipping and can install and tune the system for you. He can be reached at howard@reline-motorsports.net or 518-355-8460
Thanks, Geoff. "
sooo i cant imagine this kit is that much more for the LS7
well IMAGINE! b/c it is!!! Go on www.corvetteforum.com c6 z06 section, and look, there are quite afew holiday specials going on right now from 2 or 3 different tuners and there all up around that 17-20k mark installed and tuned.
the c5 kit is no where near as advanced as the c6 z06 kit, Howards brother is doing the c5 kit install in a week or 2, we just opened the boxes last tuesday.
i’m not rich by any means but i’ve done this…SHIT!!! i did this with the supra…i never even heard it run until i got it to my house and jumped started it…
i had my mind set on what i wanted…nothing else mattered.
what? did you not look at the 2 kits. Tell me if you dont notice a difference in build quality.
for example, C5 for for the turbo compressor intake piping its flew PVC piping…
The C6 Z06 compressor inlet piping is molding plastic.
im talking about the two because you were comparing the C6 Z06 kit to the C5 kit when their clearly is a difference. HENCE the difference in prices for the kits between the two.
The difference in price is because obviously the owner of a c6z06 will pay more just like they paid more for the car. The more expensive the vehicle is the more expensive the part. Long tube headers were 600 for my brothers camaro but when he did the long tube headers on his c5 vette they were over a grand. Same engine
