they have MMA events in NY already. They have them at the casino… one is comming up i believe. They also have them at Gil Lay arena on the rez next to the Seneca Bingo Hall in irving on Rt. 5 (Erie road)
Yeah Michigan passed something a while back and UFC still has yet to come to Detroit and Detroit is twice the size of Buffalo, so I am not sure if Buffalo would be a big enough draw.

Detroit is also six levels deeper in the shitter than Buffalo.
Realistically though, they’re probably looking at NYC not WNY.
Maybe downtown Detroit. The Burbs are doing just fine and for a regions that can support NHL, NBA, WNBA, NFL, and MLB teams. I think they can sell out a venue for MMA.
My roommate just started working for FightXC (small company out of MI) and they are filling venues really well.
There’s five MMA gyms within 20 minutes of you that send fighters routinely out of state to events. Every bar that shows UFC PPVs here is packed on fightnight (even during storms).
There’s a huge following for MMA here and companies like Strikeforce would love places like Buffalo, and I’m sure the UFC would eventually put this part of the state on their map due to all the MMA gyms surrounding.
MMA has proven to be essentially recession-proof and it should be great for the state if it’s finally legalized.
There is a UFC PPV avbout 5.5 hours from here. Who else will be there?
