how so if you dont mind me asking? its simple enough to seem like it shouldnt matter.
If you guys think a catch can will actually resolve blowby issues you are terribley mistaken. On a good running engine most catch casn will catch most condensates, but once you actually have a blowby problem (IE Worn Rings) the oil will still get by the catch can…Sometimes pour our the catch can.
This all comes down to personal preference, Why dont you drive a Ford if everything functions the same anyways???
The higher quality ones are baffled and therefore less oil will blow out back into the intake. The cheap ones are not baffled and the oil that goes in is usually frothy and full of air. This is more likely to be sucked back into the intake. Alot of the higher quality ones have an inner wall that goes about half way to the bottom, thus reducing the chance of oil coming into the can and going straight out back into the intake
Blowby issues? Well ofcourse a catch can won’t solve those. I just want to keep my intake somewhat clean.
So if you have no blowby why need for a catchcan??
Well doesn’t some oil get through it anyway? Even if the engine is new(ish)?
I know the QR blows oil through the intake, and this is why I’m getting this can. When I went to loctite my butterfly valves, I found raw oil in the intake. Not a lot, just enough to make me think that I wouldn’t want that stuff getting into the intake charge as much as can be avoided.
The Baffle thing that Rob is talking about is why I want to see a pic of the inside.
hey Jeff, How are these catch cans are any different than ebay ones ?!
Quite frankly, that boost controller is the complete knock-off of the Turbosmart controller. I am failing to see how the catch can isnt ?!
Of course they are knockoffs. Thats why they are cheap. I’m not making money off this, just remembered that alot of guys wanted some, and the distrib had boost controllers for the same price, so I threw that in as well. If it doesnt go through, I may score a few units for this price hopefully, if somebody still wants one.
The benefit of this over ebay is that we can get these next day after ordering, and the price is $60 straight up. No tax, shipping, or other bullshit.
hey sign me up for a catch can,
Updated pics.
Just so y’all know, Aero Car Parts is a distributor for these guys, and can get you any of the products they offer.
Okay, got the okay to buy less than 10 at the same price. Whoever wants something, paypal $60 (add 3% if you want) to baker_jeff@hotmail.com, and I’ll make the order when everyone that posted has paid up or backed out.
Uhh can I give you cash? Because I can’t do paypal.
I can meet up on tuesday. 221-4046
