(Update: Help???) Compression test

Hi,

How do I do a compression test on my engine? What about on an engine sitting out of the car? I heard that I can crank it with a battery hooked up to the starter… but how??

Please help! Thanks!

Search… I explaind this just a few weeks ago in this forum.

-Martin.

Send a 12V signal to the starter trigger connection.

take the spark plugs out, take the fuel pump fuse out, use a compression testor, um, dunno what else, been a while

To get an accurate compression reading the engine has to be at optimal running temp.

I didn’t realize the freakin’ gauge costs so much…

Is there someone near-by Standard Auto Wreckers with a compression guage? I could really use some help! Thank you!

Dude there $21.99 at CT thats not expensive.
