Upstate NY HSBC branches up for sale

So 10 more years it will be 100% empty 10 years after that they will debate doing something with it 20 years after that they will take it down :bacon:

They wonā€™t take it down. There is too much history there.

Run mass transit out to the suburbs save people the hassle of traffic/winter driving and revive the city

Slow down there Byron. We need a Bass Pro first.

I heard Bass Pro HQ was going to move there.

Lets fill it with grain.

turn it into a parking ramp

Give me the top floor and Iā€™ll fill it & live there

Should be interesting to see what happens

Paying for parking sucks
There are a number of decent places for lunch however once it gets cold it sucks to walk around down there with 100mph winds.

Anyone know how many floors HSBC actually uses?

$250,000 per floor should sell out pretty quick. Maybe $500,000 for the penthouse.
Most of you are too young to remember but they used to have the 38th Floor Restaurant up there.

There are already waterfront condos selling for more than that. $500k for the top floor of that tower would go in a heartbeat.

pipedreams: iā€™d fucking love ingram to move DT, and this would be a perfect fit from my perspective.

iā€™ve heard through the grapevine that its ā€œnot the proper layout for usā€ or something dumb like that.

it would solve our desk space issue, thats for sure.

Whatā€™s on the top floor right now? Or the top 5 floors?

I meant ā€œas isā€ but yeah, it would probably be the best/easiest way to fill that building.

I looked at some office space around there and a 3 office suite furnished in the tower was about $1,000 a month. Totally not bad and they really want to fill it.

I think parking is the main reason against it.

You try finding parking for ~1450 people downtown. Itā€™d be a friggin nightmare.

They had 5k people there, right?

Get one of the vendors to fund metro cards for a group / team/ anyone who volunteers to use the subway. they can market it as ā€œbeing greenā€ or spin some other bs marketing term around it

anyone else, pay for their own parking. My mom pays for her own parking, she works at some law firm downtown. Its not the end of the world.

Metro cards to where? lol

UB south? Perhaps im using the wrong term, subway car.

edit: i guess i dont see parking as a dealbreaker. Iā€™m sure they can buy/lease/negotiate some parking spots in with the lease of the building for execs / visitors / handicapped, hell they can run sales contests for monthly parking passes.
