So as im sure most of you know hsbc is closing in buffalo. I have enough fly/cash money spent on my credit card for a free round trip air flight that i have yet to use.
Is anyone else making a bank switch in the next few months? If so where are you switching too or what is your fav. bank for just residential checking account.
You think so huh? They didn’t renew the tower lease that expires in 2013, instead doing an on the cheap renovation to the atrium building to meet their needs until the lease expires. My crystal ball isn’t psychic hotline good, but something tells me they have no long term plans for sticking around WNY.
I have cornerstone cfcu for anything banking/loan related. Im pretty happy with them. I believe you need to be a resident or employee in niagara county to go there though
If the world ends on Dec 21st, then I lose but I don’t see them in the tower after 2013. They have not made any long term commitments here, gave up the arena, and even starting to move people out of it… :snky:
Their*. And to think I have a degree haha. I plan on keeping them for a little while longer but plan to switch. From what i’ve heard HSBC is leaving buffalo.

My bad. Mods feel free to close this, just wanted some input from anyone who has already made a switch and your impressions.

I am in the process of leaving them. I moved everything out of them and into Visions Federal Credit Union and Sefcu (Credit union), both of which are in NY and have a presence in Upstate, as well as Binghamton where I am moving from. Just waiting another month to see if I forgot to move any re-occuring payments, then they are getting closed.
They’re not pulling out of Buffalo for the corporate stuff…people here work too cheaply compared to Chicago, NYC, and Vancouver, which are the other sites in North America. They are going to cram a bunch of us into the Atrium and push the remote option because it saves money on office space…going to offer a lot of people the chance to go full-time remote, and a lot of desk-sharing agreements where one person comes into the office 3 days a week and they share a desk with someone who comes in 2, etc.
I love Citizens Bank. I use them for my personal and business accounts.
They have very good hours and are open on Sundays. Plenty of locations in the area. And their online bill pay is very accurate and fast.
But I am noticing they are starting to do some of the “big bank bullshit” as they expand. But for now they are small enough to remember your name and appreciate your business.
