Why was he going down the side of that hill with ZERO cover? That’s like a turkey shoot for the other guys. Take the machine gun taliban soldier out with a sniper or some well placed rounds from guys with a good shooting position. Did you see where the guy was shooting? He was just randomly firing off into the distance. What is that going to do? He’s very lucky he didn’t get killed.
I’d like to know what unit he was in and who trained him. I don’t know the entire situation or exactly what was going on but what I do know is 1) get cover, if no cover is around find concealment. 2) GET THE FUCK DOWN 3) you have and M4 with an ACOG. There’s no reason you can’t return steady enough fire to keep the enemy down. I do give dude kudos for not losing his shit. I do question him turning on his helmet cam. Any time anything ever happened there are no pictures or videos. Me and my guys were focused on the task at hand.
When I was there I was in the Nangahar province. I could pick this apart like him NOT USING HIS FUCKING M203. He said they shot a round through it but fuck that the video shows there wasn’t one for most of it.
I know my group was one of the best looking and well trained out there for the guys I met. Seeing shit like this just makes the NCO in me angry. It also makes me happy I was such an asshole to my guys.

This same as what I was just saying. With that ACOG and the right training there is no reason he can’t hit point target out to 500 meters. Area target though with the BDC he should be just dropping them in area target sustained fire.
^I was wondering the same thing. They’re firing shots right by him so he descends the hillside? Makes an even bigger target to shoot at.
from what I read before, his unit was under fire and he was trying to draw fire away from the group and also really far away but visible.
