vacuum pumps for crank case

http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/0304_381/index1.html

i know lots of u guys probably been doing this for years but i figured i’d throw this up, it’s on my list of things to do for this year on the talon (only electric instead of pully driven…those pumps pull too much vacuum for us little 4cyl guys)

Thats pretty interesting that you want to do that to your car. I’d like to see how it works in the end. Definitly proven to work on “real” motors! j/k

i look at it from this standpoint -anything that will help with sealing the rings under high cylinder pressure situations (high compression, boost, nitrous) is a plus in my book. i’ll let you know how it turns out.

seems pretty cool!!! hope it works out good!!!

i have a gm smog pump that is electric. got it from brian. just trying to gigure out a way to mount it.

smog pumps are used on lawnmowers as a cheap supercharger…

also, look into total seal top rings. they seal alot more than ts’s old middle ring setup.

yeah… i have a smog pump off my 2002 vw that i was going to use to pull vac… it’s actually a ‘secondary air intake pump’ for startups.
