Vehicular data-logging equipment, I need advice

Hey guys, I am interested in sourcing a data logger which will record a video along with engine data (rpm, temp, boost pressure, af) and motion data (frontward and lateral g’s at the same time, speed, yaw/tilt in both directions), if not all of these, then maybe two devices which can log into a data file that I can combine with a video recording on a computer ?

I have searched with google and found a few things but they seem to be overly expensive and hardly anything that can log all at once, I found video recorders and GPS devices but im not really interested in the GPS position, but more along the lines of motion schematics.

If anyone knows anything or works in a field that uses such equipment I would be happy if you have any information. Thanks alot

Please note that I am interested in devices where I can export data to a computer or record live via laptop so things such as a Gtech wont work.

The MSD G2X datalogging system allows you to record all the vital information and Im pretty sure it has an option to sync to video. Its a bit pricey at around 1K. The reason I say pretty sure is that I have used this system twice so Im not that familiar with it yet. I will be using it many more times this upcoming season. All I can say is that its pretty damn badass, it can record a ton of valuable information especially for people racing on the track.

Blackline GPs (http://www.blacklinegps.com/products.html) offers almost the same thing but its more affordable.

The whole video sync deal is somewhat new and most of these products have it or will have it in the very near future. You just have to be serious about spending the money on something like this.

If you are looking for drift specific info the drift box is something to check out. Its no where near as sophisticated as the above.

The blackline GPS system is really impressive, although it cannot simultaneously log data derived directly from the vehicles harness, it can do amazing things using the tracking features.

If you use something like this, a USB data logger: http://www.dataq.com/products/startkit/di148.htm

And log your control inputs such as braking, tps, rpm, and steering angle (you would need some sort of measurement device) than you could export data from both the blacklineGPS and the dataq data logger and create powerful analysis information in excel using macro.

The following is on the blackline GPS

Two models to choose from: Our standard model of FUEL features a serial port for communication of data to a mobile device while we also offer FUEL with Bluetooth wireless communications.

-Extremely Compact: Easy to mount on your motorcycle, kart, car, etc. (3.6" L x 3.0 W" x 1.0" H)
-Simple Connector Interface: FUEL has only power, data, and an antenna connection to worry about
-Positioning Accuracy: Record the consistency of your racing line with 50 cm precision (1.6 feet)
-High Data Update Rate: True 10 Hz (10 time per second) data rate keeps up with racing dynamics
-20 Hz Update Option: True 20 Hz data rate option for higher resolution
-Detailed Analysis: Analyze lap and segment times, racing lines, braking and acceleration, lateral acceleration, and speed
-Data Export: Analyze your data in your favorite spreadsheet program.
-Industry Standard GPS Protocol: Use FUEL with your favourite street navigation software when not at the track
