i would have stopped without a doubt
All the violinists in my orchestra belonged in a private school, or should of vent to a all guys school. Bunch of homo’s. And the Cello’s… Just looked like you were blowing yourself.
Upright bass w/ german bow is where it’s at.
+1
I played violin for 16 years.
I can only assume your hate for these instruments come from your lack of ability to play them.
I’ve played electric bass since the age of 11, and played 2nd seat upright with a bow for 3 years in high school. Anyone can be sloppy on a violin and sound decent.
My source of hate comes from the stuck up attitude that resides at the far side of the stage. Bad enough cello’s clutter the section where right in front of us. Talk about a bunch idiots.
I can dabble with any instrument with a fretboard.

appreciate beauty or get in trouble for being late possibly putting my job at risk which in turn puts my mortgage/car payment/childrens food etc etc at risk.
Its a silly study with an obvious outcome and a resolution only fit for people with the time and responsibility that allows one to “stop and smell the roses”
i would’ve stopped for some time depending on how much of a rush i was in. if i didn’t have to be somewhere i’m sure i would’ve stuck around for a little bit. listening to random people play music that you never heard is intriguing to me for some reason
Uh, if your sloppy with a violin, you can’t sound decent.
Dude looks gay, not stopping
I didn’t hear anyone mention that many people in subways get “bunker mentality”, where they don’t look/stop/act in any way that may draw any attention to themselves in crowded areas, I’ve seen it a million times.
I would have stopped, but very briefly. I was a street musician in '99 to '01 in Pittsburgh.
gets it
gets it
doesn’t get it
gets it
I don’t know about the DC metro, but in Manhattan there are talented musicians and other types of performers in many stations on a regular basis so I probably wouldn’t notice anything unique, especially considering at rush hour people in a big metro city will ignore just about anything while they’re rushing to get somewhere. As a kid that took the bus and/or subway to school in Manhattan for many years I saw all sorts of talent on the street that was of a caliber to be on stage in a smaller market.
