I'll be on WHLD (1270 AM) this morning- 10 am

I’m doing a little opinion piece on BICYCLING this morning… since I’ve almost gotten run over like 10 times since I bought my bike… I’m a little peeved.

So listen if you’re near a radio with am technology… bahahaa.

1270 AM

The show is The Newsroom…
I’m “Just Jan” with “Fightin’ Joe” and “Crazy Grady”

You should go to the critical mass ride.

i don’t have a radio here… :frowning:

I will!!

12:70am? is that the same as 1:10am?

I hear you on the bike issue though…

1270am is the station

Oh, that was good Jason. You made the goth girl next to me look over, because I was laughing.

I should give you neagtive karma for that. :mamoru:

Are you one of those asses who think they are a car and ride 10mph in the lane of a 45mph road? If so…its your own fault for almost getting hit.

[rant] I can’t stand those people. They say they have the same rights as cars to be on the road yet at the same time they don’t follow the rules of the road. Going through red lights, no turn signals, driving too slow. If you were in a car you would be ticketed. I saw one guy actually waiting in line at the Peace Bridge with all the cars to go through customs. Why he didn’t just go through the padestrian area I don’t know. I wanted to slap him in his stupid helmet and say “whats the matter with you?” [/rant]

If you aren’t one of those people then please disregard.

Do you post things on livejournal Buffalo_Dorks about this? I’ve probably replied with mean remarks.

I like when people I’m with tell the bike riders to get on the sidewalk… or they don’t know which side the bycylysts are supposed to be on… then I yell at them for being a dumbass.

  • No bikes on sidewalk
  • Go with traffic on a bike, and against when walking
  • If there is a sidewalk WALK ON IT YOU MOTHER FUCKER GET YOUR PEDESTRIAN ASS OFF OF THE ROAD

Whats AM radio? is that like a cassette tape?

:stuck_out_tongue:

oh yeeah… and i wish i lived on campus so I could ride my bike more often… gas $ < *

i hate when people ride bikes on the sidewalk.

True, but its better than the middle of Delaware Ave. at 5pm.

It’s not even close to being the cyclist’s fault. If you want to blame anyone blame the road designers for not putting a bike lane in. Most of the times when I’ve had close calls were due to the fact that people in there cars weren’t paying attention. Also, I’ve gone through the customs car lane on my bicycle, and they didn’t say anything about the pedestrian area because it is for pedestrians.

:word:

I love it when you drive on the sidewalk.

I’m very close to this subject since I actually hit someone on a bike before.
Wait let me rephrase that. They hit me. I was driving down Flint road towards UB and this kid on a bike was in the left lane and I was driving my car in the right. As I am approaching behind this kid, he decides to switch lane without looking and proceeds to slam into the side of my car as I am driving along side him. He was fine, as was his bike. My car on the other hand was not. He fucked up my bumper and scratched the side of my car.

His fault and he was not paying attention. I guess I should have gotten his insurance info right? Oh wait…he was not in a car.

That doesnt mean that he wasn’t responsible for it. You dont even need auto insurance if you can prove that you have the ability to pay 250,000 dollars in damages. insurance is just that… insurance that YOU wont have to pay foir damages you cause. no insurance, then you pay out of pocket, simple as that. so he should have paid out of pocket.

Quite right. But one look at the kid and I knew he didn’t have the money to cover the cost of repair let alone his lunch for that day. I just made sure he was ok, swallowed my little ball of anger and drove off in my injured car.
