VPS?

Anyone have or use a reliable VPS?

I have been using a VPS for a few months and have just been told that the company I was going through is discontinuing their service/support for VPS.

Semi requirements are:
2gb ram
50gb+ hard drive space
1tb+ of bandwidth
Dual or Quad core cpu Core i7 2.3ghz+ equivalent
And does not need to be managed aka bare bones support.

I have a bunch is this something legit or for side projects?

For legit projects I use Amazon or Linode

I have a number of VPS’s from cheap providers however I wouldn’t put anything mission critical on them.

We use Rackspace for our clients.

I use Linode for my personal stuff.

Both have been rock solid.

Primarily for hosting a private Minecraft server, voice comms, and general messing around to learn how it works. I don’t need top of the line, but I also do not want bottom of the barrel, and a bit on the cheaper side is fine, which is why I mentioned unmanaged solutions.

I would +1 linode good balance of price/performance.

Linode is the general goto VPS I recommend for people.

AWS is also good but can get pricey if you are not careful.

Thanks for the suggestions, they were all a bit above what I wanted to pay, since it isn’t mission critical.

I decided to go with Ramnode, and picked up a plan for $24, it has been plenty for what I am doing so far.
