Vintage equipment comes with vintage issues so I ended up ordering a more modern setup. I’ll sort out the other two as time permits…

Work picked up and got in my way. Got an unexpected day off so took full advantage.

Plating is a learning curve. This one went sideways on my first attempt, but after many hours of correction, the 2nd try went a little better…not perfect but better.

  1. Sanded down the case to correct horrible pitting.

  2. Woods Nickel Strike and bright nickel plate of case and bezel.

  3. Polished edges and worked out scratches in caseback. Re-brushed.

  4. Doxa 103 caliber. All screws blued.

  5. Wet sand and polywatch for the crystal.

  6. Running g well enough but may consider a mainspring replacement in the future.

I see how this is going.

Practicing on fine watches getting ready to transition into dentistry. Gold grills for all.

Recreational dentistry is a passion of mine.

Fella on another forum sent me a Hamilton Khaki Aviation Pioneer with their H-10 movement based on the ETA 2824. Really like this model. Somehow he got it magnetized so solved that and talked him into a service. Had excessive side shake on the barrel bridge so once corrected it seemed to solve his amplitude issues…
