Mike Holmes, from Holmes on Homes, spotted that diamond breitling at the airport this week and started a conversation with him on it.

lol Holmes wears an F’in huge watch on his show. He’s a big dude, and it even looks big on his wrist.
Ok, figured this was the place to ask. What can you guys tell me about Omega Watches? In particular, my father has one he has had kicking around for a while now. He says he thinks it is the Omega Seamaster “soccer” watch from a brief google search. I haven’t seen it yet, but plan on taking pictures of it. He said he got it in the real early 70’s, and thinking it might be a late 60’s piece as he bought it used. He said he is considering selling it since he never wears it, and asked me to look up information for him to help sell it. So what sort of things should I look for to help figure out what it is and when it is from?
those old seamasters are not expensive… a couple hundo is what he’d get for it.
better off getting it serviced and wearing it occasionally.
Mike Holmes is the man, I watch holmes on holmes all the time. What was he wearing?
He was wearing an Omega…
i didnt spot it, buddy did and didnt know which one if it was but said it was big.
i know they make a Railmaster in like 46mm or something… not sure what else they make that big.
railmaster doesnt seem gaudy enough for Holmes though.
The Railmaster that Clarkson wears is 49mm.
damn, that’s huge
Piece of Shit Obama lover…
What watch would you guys suggest if you were looking in the less than $300 range? What about less than $500?
Buying brand new or second hand?
Check out Hamilton, Tissot and ESQ. A lot of people seem to like Seiko, but I had a sour experience with them. At your price range, you’re definitely going to end up with a quartz watch. Overstock.com usually has some nice Hamiltons on hand.
I have to say though, without knowing what styles you like, it’s difficult to suggest anything.
i’d recommend saving more money.
also, there is a jewellery store at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto that has the illest watch set up i’ve ever seen… all used stuff for sale and they had 50+ Pateks, 100+ Rolex’s, dozens and dozens of IWC, Breitling, Omega etc. etc. and all at very reasonable prices…
had a IWC spitfire day date chono with the whole kit for $4,200 which i thought was pretty fair… FA Jones for $10k or so… lots of stuff i couldnt really look at… too tempting… easily a thousand watches on display… overwhelming.
bing, what is the name of the watch store in toronto? wanna check it out next time i’m there. it’s sad used high end watch stores dont exsit in buffalo, maybe it’s because ppl in buffalo are so damn poor.
^ what he said, sounds like a definite stop the next time im in Toronto

i need to go there again when i have more time and with someone who will actually buy something so that i don’t feel like a fggt the whole time.
i could spend hours there.
they dont list prices on their site and they dont have all the watches on there but they do pretty much have everything they show on there…
nothing on consignment either… so they say… i dont know how one store puts up the capital to stock everything they have there.
they also advised that they service every watch they sell… which is AWESOME
So when I try to change the date on my Rolex (80ish oyster perpetual datejust) I am getting some resistance and after a couple difficult twists, it finally clicks over. Almost feels like something is grinding.
How much and I looking to fix it and anywhere people would recomend in Buffalo that I could drop it off next time I am home? Last time I took it in for service they had to send it across the pond to have the factory fix it, which was not cheap.
Still waiting on some advice for my Rolex.
What do you guys think of this watch:
Been looking for a white dial and I like Omega’s. I know older Omega’s are smaller. This seems to be a decent size at 36mm.
Any feedback on quality of the piece and if it is priced right?
I have a 10% off ebay code for fashion and watches that expires tonight.
Thanks.
its not a bad price and appears to be in good shape… the strap is generic
it’s coming from India though… skeeetchy.
i think you should take a look at my Omega
I’ll bring it to a meet if you’re going to be there.
Your omega for sale?
His feedback seems good so I guess I have more comfort.
Just ordered it up. The coupon expiring pushed me to buy it. What would the strap width be 20mm? I think I want a brown with white stitching.
