Well, I am deciding on what brand of watch to go with, and made this post just to see what brand people rely on for their watches. I am looking for something simple that just tells me time but I do have a couple of things that a watch has to have.
Has to be Gold/Silver so that I can wear it everyday (matches everything)
Metal bracelet, I don’t like the leather once
Swiss or Jap movement (don’t want china), not looking for an automatic, just want a simple quartz.
Never heard of FORTIS, but after going to their website I am a fan :), those are some good watches, but it seems they mostly do automatics and I can’t afford that + even if I get enough money to buy it I won’t be able to fix it if something happens… :headbang
Used to wear casio g-shock for the last 3.5 years till something went wrong with the battery.
I tried to fix it, couldn’t put it back together. Since I got a new cellphone with a working external screen I never bothered to replace it.
They’re cheap, reliable, tough and disposable.
If you’re not looking to make a statement it’s probably the most frugal purchase.
I have the nixon “the player” whatch in black and silver with the diamond. And i have a fossil with the blue backround and a diamond. The nixon is by far the nicer of the two. But it dosnt sound like your goin for anything that fancy :lol
I have a citizen titanium watch that I wear alot, as well as a movado I wear for dressier occasions. My next 2 watches are going to be an omega, as well as a rolex.
Whats your budget? I have watches varying from $100 all the way up to $2,000. I’ve gotta Fossil watch that i’ve had for a while and I wear that alot and when im out on the weekends cuz I don’t wanna damage my good ones. I have a Burberry one, it’s all silver, nice watch, not too pricey ($400) and then I have my Raymond Veil watch. Has a gold and silver band, it’s a really nice watch
I have some other misc. watches kicking around too. Citizen, Movado, Seiko are all nice and priced reasonably too.
<-Watch nazi. Currently rocking an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean. If you want a NICE watch and only want quartz I’d recommend a Tag Hauer. Nice, entry level swiss watch that has quality craftsmanship and will not depreciate like a lot of the watches mentioned by others. Buying a good watch is a proper investment. IMO you’re better off spending a little more than you planned and having something that will continue to have value down the road. I could still sell my Omega for $2,000+ and it’s over 2 years old. Just something to consider.
This is not mine, mine has a smooth bezel and a slightly different color face, more of an eggshell
I’ve owned a Tag kirium bag in the day along with a Rolex Oyster Day Date, which was 2 tone gold, blinged out with diamond bezel and hour markers on the face. I lost the Tag in a car accident and the Rolex became too flashy for me as I grew older.
I want to pick up a Cartier Roadster soon, like this one:
i currently wear a bulova that i have had for almost 7 years now. i always wear a POS honda watch that i paid 30 bones for when i dont wanna screw up the bulova. the next watch i am going to be getting is the movado series 800 with the cf band.
I though it would scratch, well except for the Sapphire Crystal :), so I got a 2 year premium warranty that covers wear/tear + pretty much anything except for changing the battery and running it over with a car :). I just got it today and it actually feels like a real watch its very solid and looks mad nice :)…
