south ossetia had been trying to break away from georgia since the early 90s.

georgia granted south ossetia autonomous status within georgia.

russia offered ossetians (and abkhazians) russian citizenship so that when georgia had to assert its territorial integrity, russia could justify invasion due to the threat against “russians”.

this has been going on for years; you can’t only look at the events of the past month or so.

if georgia is at fault, why have even historically neutral countries sided with georgia?

the even better question is - Why do we even give a fuck?

who cares if russia takes Georgia, I know I won’t lose any sleep over it. If Russia tries to pull a Hitler and take over Europe, then we may have a little issue. But to get into a fight with Russia over some little place like Georgia is retarded, let them and the countries close by deal with it.

It shouldn’t even be on the news over here.
