^^“The shooter was a suspect being held at the police station, according to the Associated Press. It is unclear how the suspect was able to obtain a weapon.”
Ummmmm… what? Maybe we should ban police guns as well.(?)

I realized it’s not exactly the same as the other 2 more prominent shootings lately, just pointing out more “crazy”!
THIS^
The Tipping Point was a good book on this type of stuff, propagation of self fulfilling prophecies so to speak.
Tipping point is an interesting book.
I was joking because with this story it seems not even cops can keep their guns safe at the station. This is assuming they made sure he had no weapons but then he took one of theirs.
I figured, I got it, just clarifying that ppl appear to be on crazy pills lately!
How the fuck do you now know if you reported your gun stolen or not?
Criminal defense how does it work…
Exactly. I think there’s something more to this story.
Idiots like this are the reason we can’t have nice things.
Even if she did purchase the guns knowing he couldn’t own them a lawyer would never have you admit to it lol
Apparently the guns were purchased at Gander Mountain in Henrietta, and Spengler was present at the time. No idea how they know that, but that’s what the police are saying. Um, damn.
So the existing laws were in place, yet someone ignored / circumvented them. Would additional laws have prevented this? She should get the maximum penalty allowable by law. If it were up to me, I would charge her with the deaths of the two firemen.
^yup. agreed
Video surveillance and storage are cheap now
Gander probably has a policy to retain video records for a long period to protect themselves in shit like this
^they’d be stupid not to.
Apparently the chick texted a friend of hers who is a Monroe County Sheriff, told him that Spengler was with her, helped her pick out the guns etc. Now she’s saying that they were stolen, but she never reported them as such. This is going to get messy. I hope they make an example out of her.
Lt. Michael Chippiarini was laid to rest yesterday. The service was broadcasted by several news stations via the internet, I tuned in for bits of it and it was very moving. His wife is a very strong woman to hold it together as well as she did, her son by her side. They are saying 4,000+ firefighters and police showed up from all over the country and Canada. FDNY brought one of the 9/11 flags for the ceremony.
Today, Tomasz is being laid to rest. Part of the route to the cemetery is close to where I work, and on my lunch break there were at least 50 people on various overpasses, holding signs and flags.
somewhat related: lost my uncle a couple years back due to skin cancer, he was in the Rochester FD. I think there were well over 1000 people that came through for his wake and funeral. Firefighters are a close knit bunch…
Yeah, FD’s and PD’s are definitely a family, and a huge one at that. There is a petition to award the Medal of Freedom to the two who passed, as well as the 2 who are continuing their recovery.
reading the description on Wikipedia, I’m not sure the medal applies to the firemen. I am NOT at all diminishing the acts of firemen all around the country. I’m also not saying they don’t deserve recognition.
