the 2.7t is a closed deck iron block, with forged crank, and forged Mahle pistons from the factory. the weakest link on the S4 is the rods, just like the 1.8t, but since they displace more it takes less abuse to make the power. alot of the big names in S4 are using OEM rods still though

Did not go lean, nor did the plugs look bad, except Cylinder 3’s plug…the ceramic and electrode was gone…ON A 2 STEP COLDER PLUG!!! Super Iradium 9’s

Oh and my dad took a look at the civic when he got home from work…Pieces of the spark plug (Cyl 3) are melted to a valve causing it to not close/retract (whatever you wanna call it) which is causing the severe skipping/loss of power.

does your dad have a bore-scope? i get my car back tonight… carnage pictures will be taken when i get it apart and find the problem, i think its the axle flange. its a female part that goes over the diff spline and is bolted in place, rather than the splined shaft like a honda axle that goes in the diff… i think it is broken… gonna be a bit costly im sure since its a relativily new part and is still dealer only, unless i find it reasonably priced used…

no i dont need one, but they are cool. definently can save you tons of time. we used to use them to inspect compressor blades beyond the 2nd stage compressor section on the turbine engines… sneaky little devices.
