You sure your return line is draining properly? no kinks or sections that slant upward toward the pan?
No checked it yesterday but, its so weird…im not losing any power at all and did a compression tested today and that went good 180 on 4, 170 on 3, approx 180 on 2, and 175 on 1…could be head gasket possibly idk gotta get more opinions and things…there is no shaft play on the turbo and it seems to be spooling good nothing feels bad about it yet…idk what it is yet…any other opinions on the situation?
It is burning white smoke out the exhaust, but it doesnt do it all the time, it does it randomly, no oil in the coolant yet and oil in the dipstick seems fine…is it possible that it is just seaping between cylinders and its burning up in the cylinder
So today im out driving around and i was running the car pretty hard to see what would happen because I have no idea whether it could possibly be the headgasket or the turbo and i would like to find out and not keep wondering and guessing cuz i dont have the money to guess rite now and i get home and im lookin over the car and there it is same problem as the first time i had to send the turbo back its blowing oil rite out of the exhaust housing at the exact same place as last time so these a**holes better give me my god damn money back cuz thats bull shit obviously the turbo is bad
alright im done with my rant for now
:sadwavey: Hopefully they give you some type of help to getting it fixed.
too much boost or bad setup?
Bad Turbo!!! 6lbs i dont think thats too much and im sure a couple ppl on here will vouch for my setup
How long did it run well before this happened?
First time it was together i drove it for two days and didnt stop smoking so i sent it back and they said there is nothing wrong with it but we’ll put new seals and bearings in it…and this time ive been driving it for about a week and a half. It smoked when i first put it together but ppl said since its brand new it just might be shit on the inside burning up and dont worry about it unless it does it for more then a week and it progressively got worse and last nite i found that it is leaking oil rite from the exhaust housing, like it was doing the first time i sent it back. And a little bit is spraying onto my valve cover and it is running down my return line
and it is running fine rite now besides the fact that its smokes bad and the oil coming out…im not losing any power from it yet
borrow another turbo and see if its the turbo or if its something in your setup…
alright man, don,t fucking yell at ame casue u bought a piece of shit,it was just a suggestion, listen to what mac seaid then go from there:blah: :blah:
wasnt yellin at you by any means…anyone have a T25 they wanna let me borrow for the day?
T28 ok?
where is the dump in the oil pan? is it above the oil level?
but also remember. if its your set up for some reason. and you blow there turbo. i guess that person will be pissed.
good point… usually wanna tap no lower than 1 inch from the top of the oil pan
It have the T2 4 bolt and 5 bolt flanges?
How high is the oil level on a B16? Jeff from 1st Try drilled it out and set it all up I dont think he would do it wrong but ill check
well, easy way to check is pull the hose off the pan and see if oil comes out.
Another thing to do, put the oil dump in a bucket and run the car and make sure the oil is draining properly.
i put the return as high as i could on the pan
Did you happen to just install a catch can? I have seen this problem before if so… one time I installed my catch can and didnt realize it was not vented… yeah… so anyways the crankcase pressure was so high that it would not let the oil gravity drain, hence white smoke out of the exhaust wheel… took off a braided line from the valve cover to vent it, bam… problem fixed. If you do not have a catch can… maybe you have a clogged PCV valve? Its worth checking.
By the way… never start with a used turbo… just like Sinister said…
