I feel your pain. This summer the same thing happened to me on a lesser scale. Of course I trust my brother with my life, but now…not so much with my bike.
It was the second day I owned my bike and we took it over to a church parking lot to get a feel for it. After putting around for a good half hour or so I noticed my brother was looking a bit bored…so I let him take her around. No more that 5 minutes after he go on it…it was in some grass. Scratched crankcase cover, scratched tail, scratched fairing, and a broken shift lever on and otherwise flawless bike 
ANYWHO…I hope you get it back together nicely…and LOL and losing it…I was damn near hyperventilating when it happened to me. Oh yeah and don’t be too rough on the bro…
dave… I hear you there, but its nice to have something to play with during the long winter months. Besides if you bought it for the price we discussed you could make money on it come summer… food for thought.

Front end conversion here we come. Just bought plastics from a guy who bought an '05 brand new a few years back, and stripped it right away for the track. oddly enough, they happen to be black as well.
So I’m getting the upper, headlights, both mids, both lowers which are essentially brand new from an 05 and all I need are mirrors, the fender, and a windscreen.
the rear plastics wont fit… .just so you know. and you’ll need different ram air ducts…
