So had to do some work in China, never really thought I’d be here, but low and behold here I am. I’m in Beijing right for a few days, then to Tianjin, then to Shanghi, then to Hong Kong. Plan on seeing the Great Wall, Forbidden City and eating some roasted duck. I told my wife I might get a tattoo for shits and giggles. Should be an interesting gig, I’ll upload pictures when I can my phone reception and the wifi here sucks at the moment.
My first day in Beijing:
Flight lands at 5am China time, I get my hotel and meet with customers for presentations at 9am. The airport is beautiful and huge, most people keep to themselves, immigration is friendly and I enter with no issues. The hotel is a Holiday Inn, but it feels more 5 star then any I’ve been in state side. The bathroom shower has clear glass looking into the bedroom, that could be interesting if my wife was here. LoL. Finish my meetings and presentations about 4pm and get ready for dinner with some of the guys here. We are going for roasted duck. My room is on the 36 floor of a 41 story building in a popular suburb of the city, or so I’m told. There are buildings and people everywhere, the roads are totally nuts but in better shape then Buffalo’s. I’m way taller then most people here and the ladies all giggle at my cowboy boots. I’ll try to update often.
Have fun. I was not impressed with Beijing when I was there in April. Place was shady as hell and not friendly to American’s unless they were trying to con you; so be careful.
I was there with a bunch of people, 3/4 of the people had their rooms tossed and gone through, safes opened; most of the guys were propositioned by women (con artists); the 2-class system was striking in complete poverty next to loads of $$.
I’m surprised people would even care about white people in Beijing seeing as how they get tons of foreigners for business.
Dare ya to go to the red light districts. The ladies of the night there are trained to go after the white dudes. And it’s not because you have massive wangs.
I’m a mechanical engineer, I’ll go to the red light just to see them freak. Can’t husle a hustler haha. I’ll be in honk kong in a few days, I pm’d @Zong.
So I’m in Shanghi and I’ll be heading to ShenZhen tomorrow, just outside Hong Kong. I can’t wait its been a whirlwind of a trip so far. I’m glad I was able to come here, China is truly an amazing place to visit. Anyways some more pictures.
Hey a dog not in a food dish! Actually there are a lot of people with pet dogs.
lol @LZ1 , truth. Should have brought just a burner phone and laptop. Does your company have a travel program for issuing you equipment for travel? Usually there’s at least a policy.
