Went out for some honey...

And came home with a big ass bumblebee.

2006 SkiDoo 800 MXZ with just over 3k on it. I have a few plans for it, but for now it’s going to get a good cleaning and I would like to polish the tunnel. I need a tunnel bag too if anyone has an extra.

Awesome sled. Exactly what I’m considering upgrading to if we can just get a winter where I can actually justify it.

was it a trade in lol Nice sled!

No trade, just a find through a high school buddy. Picked it up for $3,800 with a helmet, 2 bottles of amsoil and a cover. Adult owned and ridden and always stored in a garage. I think it was a great deal!

Nice ride, I rode a rev 800 the last 3 years, handled great and had plent of power, fuel consumption was quite high.

Before you ride, check your reed boots and the PTO seal, these are common weakpoints and lead to engine failure. A good carb cleaning won’t hurt either.

Thanks for the advice! My mechanic is going to come check it out and do all necessary work to it before the snow flies. I think he’s actually coming tonight since I have it in my garage.

I thought about buying a few sleds to sell last year (I’m an automotive dealer). So glad I didn’t, it only snowed twice I would have gone broke!

how has that affected the market considering it was a nationwide snow drought?

Market doesn’t seem that affected from what I’ve seen. Most of the sled guys I know are just saying “it was just a weird year, it will be back to normal this season”. I think if this season is bad the bottom will fall out on prices.

I think we will have a good year. It’s getting colder earlier this year already so thats a good sign. I wouldn’t have bought this sled if I didn’t think it was gonna happen.

Is there any logical thought behind what this winter will provide beyond “I think it will be a good year?”

I am legitimately curious because winter is my favorite season and I truly hope it’s a good one.

Awesome! My cat’s gettin hungry and likes to eat insects.

The extent of my Friday night:

This tunnel is fucking shot. I tried to polish it but it looks like shit so I started wet sanding and it’s turning out kick ass.

This is what I started with:

This product sucks!

Much better!

Before:

After:

Clean is nice, keeping it that way is the challenge.

Nice pick up man

Thanks man, I plan to finish the tunnel tonight and get it back together. I have to get it out of my garage so that I can work on my snowblower next.

Double post. Stupid phone

truth. these 800’s arent that quick. suck to work on because of everything being crammed in there. i guess they ride nice though

looks like ill still have my 800 this year, when do i get to race the firekitty?

Sounds like we need to plan a ride this season. Never been out your way. Have you done alot of riding in the southern tier?

God I would never go through the hassle of polishing that thing. Nice sled tho

1qikz, I grew up in holland and I also bought this sled out of holland. I’ll have to come out that way.
