Wexford Starlite Car Cruise rumors cleared up

So those spaces will be avail to us to use, and parking wont be even worse then last year as you had said at first? Yay!

Jim,

if you need pictures of the cruise, i’m sure people on here can provide for the website.

I will post up whatever I take when I get home from the flashlight drags Saturday Night.

The upper lot should make for some good shots

I plan on stopping by at some point. The weather will be great.

Weather looks awesome. I currently feel like a bag of ass, but if the sinus douche works it’s magic I may be out tonight.

There are allready cars parked there

Oh I had no doubt about that one… some of the old retired folks get there at noon and camp their spots… lol

I know.i got there at 5 and had to park up on the hill.:eek2: I overheard someone saying there were around 1500 cars there. Nice turnout tho

Damn…wheres the pics ?

I was going to take some but i forgot the battery for the camera:bash:

Record breaking night. Weather was not great, but acceptable.

I stood up at the top where all the cars had to leave… if you’re in the top lot around 8:00 you can see every car and stand in one place, seemed as if once 8 rolled around, everyone was in a hurry to leave. Very sick cars, too, some that aren’t there every single week.

Great to meet those of you that I talked to, Russ and Rob…

We got there at 5:30 and were scrambling to find spaces in the upper lot…

I don’t know why they closed off the whole back lot of the church and made it spectator or handicapped parking or something, but they really should reopen it to cars, they gained 500 spaces but killed off how many?

A few of our guys could not come until 6:30, and got turned away even at the upper lot, and ended up just going home.

i have a few pics…hopefully it will be nicer this friday

I had a good time. Definately hope the weather will be a bit nicer this friday.

So far the weather looks good for Friday; 76 and sunny

Thanks to everyone who came out. We had a killer night and really appreciate the patience showed by everyone who attended on Friday which was our biggest night ever. With the new parking configurations and all the new volunteers, we really couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the night. There were about a million things that could have gone wrong and didn’t.

We certainly have no shortage of people who suggest how we can do things better, and we are listening. As I have said here in the past, please continue to be patient with us while we navigate our way through this transition year. Keep in mind that when the construction is finally finished next year we’ll have to relearn things all over again to deal with yet another new traffic pattern.

For those of you that couldn’t get in, all we can say is sorry. We really can’t restrict when people come in because there’d be a traffic jam on Route 19 for the early birds followed by a stampede of cars when we open the gates that might take us all out. Besides it would get us in Dutch with the Northern Regional Law Enforcement Community!

Thanks again for coming…Please say hi if you see me roaming the grounds. I’ll be in a yellow staff shirt with my name embroidered on it. See you Friday

Only immediate suggestion would be to put the food vendors back where they were and give us the back parking lot back, could fit a few hundred more cars that way

The food vendors were moved due to the lack of a power supply in the old location. Another casualty of the construction project. They should be back next season.

The back lot issue is a little more complicated. We need for our staff, many who are on hand well past 11:30 at night to not need to walk 1/4 mile just to get back to their cars. We simply needed to reserve someplace for our (ALL volunteer) staff to park and this spot just made the most sense. Besides if the word got out that we opened 75-100 new spaces, 200 people would show up and we’d still be turning people away.

Quantity is nice, but we need to keep the quality in it as well.

Thanks for the input.

well having the extra 100 cars would benefit everybody then right?

And I understand the need for having parking nearby for staff, Sheetz? lol.

Hopefully it doesnt get so bad that we get turned away at 5:30pm

I’m part of the leadership team and you ought to see me try to get past the newbie volunteers at the back gate when I try to roll in at 5:30 or 6

we’ll be there again
