i orderd precison 880s and gm 3bar
You’ll at least have enough fuel for 10s. :scared:
Something you may want to try. On homemade turbo theres a thread about ghetto sleeving. Basically reinforcing stock sleeves with aluminum. Supposedly a member of that forum held 33 lbs on his aluminum reinforced b16. Something at least to look at. Couple guys I know are doing it and if it works i’m not going to waste my time paying a grand for sleeves.
My opinion… its either going to spin a bearing or break rings (which will score the walls) before something catastrophic happens where sleeves would be crutial
I Think Your Gonna Beat The Shit Out Of It For Couple Thhousand Miles Then It Might Blow
forged pistons will not break a ring or ringland and if it is assembled right it won’t spin a bearing. sleeves will break if you beat it over 400whp range
My money is on a bearing. Joe loves to rev. I thought 9600 rpm launches in my hatch might be enough for him but I doubt it :burnout:
i’d say run straight race gas. use that to keep knock down as well as give u a safety margain on tune/detonation.
if u run on pump, i would say be very conservative w/ timing and work ur way in. imo, anything over 15lbs on pump is a waste. who gives a shit about hp or et numbers achieved on pump gas. if anything, dial the car in at 15lbs on pump gas, then run str8 race gas and bump timing 10 degrees
launch on the ebrake to preload the drivetrain so ur not breaking axles (assuming running 24.5 inch slicks) or run a smaller 22 inch slick that will give some then hook.
thats my suggestions, take them for what they are worth.
with my ls tranny, reving to 9000rpm with a 23" slick the top of 4th is like 140mph…
yeah I think 7500 is goin to be a good shift point for you cause no way are you goin 140mph in the traps
His shift point should be determined by where he makes peak power not what he traps at. :wtcslap:
well it runs, i took it up the street on the low cam, and its slow as fuck, lol
im hopefully start to tune tonight…
well we will put it this way on stock sleeves piston speed is goin to be an issue at anything more than 8k
:bluez28:
im seting rev limit to 9200
boom! i just dont give a fuck, if its still pulling in that rpm range i will chance it
well a slight bit higher then his peak power point
go away
Barely no more so than a gsr or itr.
the back housing on that turbo will choke it up thur.
well i started tuning yesterday, i did like 15 pulls and on just a slightly modded basemap. it was pulling hard as fuck from 6500- 8250 (rev limit) it wanted to pull clear past 8200, then i ate up a head gasket!!
it was pulling alot harder then my ls, and not spinng at all the power was super smooth!!
