We all know what Brown can do you for… but what can I do? I can get your paint looking mighty fine, that’s what
My neighbor is away all week so I’m slowly chipping away at his car. He’s got a 05 Infiniti G35x and I’m doing the $100 “crap-your-pants” exterior detail on his car.
I’ve seen detailers on the forumz use 50/50 shots all the time on paint that they’re working on so I decided to try it.
Here is the hood of the car:
looks kind of normal… right? WRONG
a different angle:
FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
the culprit: these little guys
i’m sure you’ve all seen them, or even have some on your car. they’re little tree sap droppings that get caked on your paint. my neighbor decided to take -5,000,000,000 grit sandpaper to his car to try and get them off, needless to say, it didn’t work very well and scratched the living crap out of his paint.
here’s the area of the hood i decided to try a 50/50 shot on:
a shot from directly above:
LOL
a shot of a different part of the hood (undetailed) that didn’t get the special sandpaper treatment:
and away we goooooooo:
after using my claybar, 4 stage polish and my Best of Show wax, here was the result:
now that is obviously a lot better, but how much better, you ask??
quite a bit better, I’d say
