My initial reaction to cars losing manual was similar, but then I started to drive more of the new cars and now IDGAF if manual dies.
Nah man, I just figured out I have just as much fun driving stick as paddle.
Same. I recently made the switch due to the amount of time I spend in traffic. While there isn’t anything quite like rowing through gears, paddle shifters make it so I still have plenty of control over gear/rpms
Something that makes 'Murica noises and does massive heaters. I.E. Camaro SS 1LE (can’t believe I just typed that), Mustang GT Premium, maybe a Charger Hellcat while I’m dreaming. You know, to appease my practical side. I’m tired of bringing home all these “tinker toys” (so says my father)…
I’m in this weird spot where I may find myself commuting a lot less soon, but I can’t be sure. That weighs heavily into my options as it’s nice to have 1 car to do it all… but if not commuting I may take a risk on something older, fun, and potentially less reliable.
NEW WATCH LIST (or CPO): MT FJ Cruiser, MT V6 Tacoma, MT wrx/sti, AT 4Runner Trail
OLD WATCH LIST: e36 m3, e30, 60’s or late 50’s c10 (4 on floor,) or anything else radical and clean
I’m keeping my list on the obtainable side, LOL
man if they made new 4runners in manual i’d already have one. Really the perfect truck. So nice, so roomy, so reliable.
Maybe a new(used) truck, 2014 Silverado or maybe a used Ram. I don’t really need a reliable vehicle to get to work because I get a work van I drive to work everyday in.
So I can’t justify an expensive car payment on a vehicle I don’t use very often. Let alone anything that sees salt is eventually inevitably rot/rust. But currently I already have 3 vehicles, 2 summer cars and one DD. Maybe I should build a bigger garage or sell my house and buy one since I only have a 1.5 car garage… Full driveway all day every day.
Test drove an Enclave tonight with the wife. Not exciting but probably our next vehicle. Really comfortable with tons of room, dead quiet on the highway and the towing capacity I need.
I’m really curious about the Tesla model 3. Might be a good option for me in a few year when I wanna get ride of my xterra.
I have a colleague with one and he wants to sell it. It’s a Canadian car though… but your dollar is strong probably $18-$20k usd. It has 100,000+ kms on it.

Yeah a manual Trans Aston would be sick. We’re in a space where any serious car guy with the means really needs to pick the one car that is just analog enough and with a manual Trans to hold on to for the rest of adulthood just to prove that you were once not a boring old man.

Link not worky.
I don’t believe that list but either way I’d take any of that list over the top model camaro any day and for obvious reasons.
Not much,Wrangler Pickup seems interesting though.
Yeah, cause a big top heavy box would be a BLAST with a manual tranny… I mean you could heel toe it through some tight curves, go auto crossing with it like all the faggots like to, have an internet circle jerk over the third pedal. Fuck, what is Toyota thinking???
^ I love the passionate hate in this post.
I need a replacement SUV for winter/tow duty. It’s not quite exciting but it is the next purchase.
The 2106 historic link no longer works on their site either;
Here is the lowly V6 Camaro’s lap:

And the 2015 historic:

I am obviously lying because I love to perpetuate the myth that suspension and tires will always trump horsepower.
2017 a6/a7 competition package, not pulling the trigger for a few years though. maybe a late volcano red b8.5 S4 if the bottom drops out of the prices during the next few years.
Yeah who am I kidding, I’m about to pick up a Kia Soul for the wife. First time I’ll ever have a car payment in my life.
I would rather kill myself. lol
