Over the weekend I ran a vendor booth at the Rockland County Mega Meet. I drove the car and Drew took my bike. Since a naked bike SUCKS for long periods on the highway we decided to find a way to throw the windshield from his Honda Shadow bobber project on there just for the ride. We rigged it up quick and it worked great. Oddly enough it actually didn’t look too bad on there either. So I decided to come up with an actual mounting solution for it to use it until I can afford the $800+ front windshield / fairing I want for it.
I drilled out a couple factory brackets (cable guides) to hold the upper supports for the windshield:
At work I found a perfect piece of 2 x 2 x 1/4" aluminum angle stock and cut it up as needed for the lower mount. It was ‘fabricated’ using a hack saw, cutoff grinder, dyna file, and a hand file so it’s not perfect. I’d love to have a CNC waterjet… yea…:
I also painted the lower section of the windshield to make it appear more of a fairing / windshield than a full size windshield. It isn’t perfect, and the lines don’t match exactly, but for a total cost of $0 it was well worth the effort until I can afford the one I want.
It is not a permanent mount and comes off in under a minute (4 bolts) and is really only going to be used on longer rides but it is quite nice for riding on the highway. I can wear my half shell without the constant pounding in my ears from the wind.

looking for a bike someone dumped hard or wrecked. pretty much anything besides harleys/baggers. sub 1k.
Not where this post belongs home boy
true, but i figured it’d get the most exposure here.
A few days ago I attempted to re-adjust my mirrors at a light and it ended in a cracked lens (put a little too much pressure on it)… so I ordered up an inexpensive pair of mirrors. At the same time, I can’t stand ANY of the front turn signal options out there for my Stryker so the gears started turning and I decided to make something I would be happy with and would still be functional.
5 5mm prewired LED’s flush mounted (protrude roughly 1/8" to allow them to be seen from the side) into the new mirror. I will get pics of everything on the bike and a quick video tomorrow… right now the high temp RTV is still setting up and I have some tape holding it in place until it does.
And before anyone brings it up, yes the spacing is not exact between the LED’s. Due to the internal setup of the mirror, there was no possible way to space the LED’s equally unless I only used 3 LED’s, which would have taken away from the visibility of the signals.
Rode it for the second time this season lol.
Got this stuff
More pics kenny
Finally remembered to take a couple finished pics of the new mirrors / turn signals. I’m definitely happy with how they turned out… much better than anything I’ve found online.
Video:
they look great Kenny.
bought an inspection for my bike today
Nice job on the mirrors!
That’s sick. How much will KKD Garage charge to do an identical set for my Shadow?
