Since I haven’t posted in a while, I figured I’d start a build thread for my bike. So here it goes.
2012 Stryker Raven
R6 flush mounted tail light
High beam flash garage door opener
Red ‘demon’ eye LED around headlight
Various Red LED’s throughout the bike.
I finally got started on the de-chroming yesterday. Used Plasti-dip so it will hopefully resist chipping a little better than paint and if I ever decided I want to go back to chrome, I can just peel it off and the chrome will be unharmed.

Also removed the tank trim. I actually like the look of just the gas cap… gives it that ‘chopper’ / bobber look almost (I think).
Now to do some work on the rear section… and save up for a Vance & Hines hopefully soon. Then over winter I’ll most likely get the wheels powdercoated and figure out what I can do with the front end / forks.
No, he still has the CBR. That is just going to be a little project and I’m hopefully going to get going on my old suzuki again. Might actually start putting it together sometime… lol.
Its only an 8’ ceiling so I would barely be able to lift the car a few feet which wouldn’t be worth it. The only other way would be to raise the ceiling by moving the roof cross braces up, but then I would have to put the lift dead center which would basically eliminate use of quite a bit of the garage. So I’ll just hold off til I can build a nice big garage in the back area… lol
My buddy Sean who owns precision only has 8 ft ceilings and he has two lifts and has been working out of there for a good 10 years just need a creeper stool and your good to go
I know it can be done… I just figured that I might as well wait til I can use a lift to its full potential before I drop the bank on the actual lift… lol
Haha very valid and true point! But def props on the bike I just had another Sv delivered to my garage so that’s a total of 3 svs one drz and a 50 in my garage
In addition to getting a bunch of stuff finished up on the trailer, I managed to actually do some work on the bike yesterday as well.
Started to paint my exhaust (that was done Friday and I didn’t have a whole lot of time so I wasn’t able to do the entire exhaust just yet). The paint ‘scheme’ will directly match the 2011 Raven. I also drilled a total of 12 9/16" holes in the baffle to give it a much better sound.
Yesterday I was able to get my rear lowering links installed. It drops the rear approx. 2.25". With the rear being lower, it made the ‘stance’ of the bike look off so I also dropped the front by loosening both triple trees and sliding the forks up a bit. The forks were moved approx. 30mm.
And one more side shot along with the installation of the one and only decal that will be going on the bike. I relocated the tire information sticker a little further forward on the swing arm to hide it a little better without completely removing it.
Now to install my peg extenders when they come in, finish painting the exhaust, and she should be ready to go for Indy in a couple weeks!!
Almost forgot, I also decided to give the bike a little more loud. I’ve had 4 1/2" holes in each baffle for a little while but decided to go big or go home and increased the size to 9/16" as well as adding 4 more holes. I plan on picking up a Vance & Hines exhaust when we get back from Indy so I didn’t take the time to perfectly space them. But the sound is actually really good for a factory exhaust with a bunch of holes. Will definitely hold me over for now.
And as for the lowering, surprisingly its not scraping as much as I originally thought it would. I purposely decided to push it a little bit to see just how far I could lean it before it started pushing up on the peg (don’t want to max the peg ‘flex’ out and break the peg or cause the rear tire to skip out). I was able to lean it over pretty good before the peg started pushing up on my foot.
Just a little peg rash… lol
Blacked out the passenger backrest and side covers with plasti-dip (left the luggage rack chrome for now b/c I almost always have a tail bag on it and it would wear through the plasti-dip real quick. I’m not expecting the plasti-dip to last all that long in that area, but come winter I’m having all the pieces painted / powder-coated anyways.
I also hand machined a few swing arm spikes to dress up the belt adjustment bolts and to keep the threads protected. I will probably turn them down a little smaller and possibly add an o-ring groove to help seal out any dirt / debris but I wanted to see what they looked like so far. They are made from standard aluminum round stock.
From the back
Next on the list is the front wheel once I can get a motorcycle jack.
