title agency for mortgage insurance. I do every damned position in this department. In the process of getting a pt job at UPS loading/unloading. Thatā€™s going to be interesting :stick:

tow driver 85 hours last week and avg over 68 hours a week this year. looking to get into the utilities. water/gas/phone companies

manage a concrete block factory

It is a fully automated process that only has about 15 employees and runs around the clock. Basically with a location that small I have to do everything it takes to make it run. It is an interesting job and with a company that small it is probably the closest thing you will get to owning your own business without actually owning it. The managers are basically responsible for everything. I get to be everything from an on call 24 hour electrician, to production scheduler, industrial maintainence, finding ways to increase productivity and save money, human resources, purchasing agent, pretty much everything. But mostly itā€™s about trying to get the guys to do their job. The people managing end of it is what will drive you crazy. I can fix machinery, I can plan for the future, I can analyze numbers, but getting a person to do what is expected will drive you up a wall.

On a whole I enjoy the job. Always something new, and never repetitive. Usually it leaves me feeling like a one legged man in a butt kicking competition trying to get everything under control and in some semblence of order. But I guess that is what happens when you are hired to help rehab a place that has been poorly managed and maintained in the past. I guess I donā€™t know what else I would be doing. I couldnā€™t stand a normal desk job I would get too bored.

im jobless currently :bash:

My title is Manager of Mechanical Engineering. I manage myself.
