I wanted to pass this by the mods first b/c I don’t want them to think that we’re trying to pimp the places we work at / ourselves at the expense of paying advertisers - b/c the advertisers are keeping this site up and running.
I was thinking that a sticky like the phone directory thread but listing the jobs / places people work would be a great idea. This would allow forum members to actively support people and the businesses they work for, who participate in the community. I think posts should be limited to: Name, Company / Business Name, Title, Contact Info and a brief description of the products / services it offers and any discounts it can offer members. Only one listing per member per business / job - unless they get another job.
I work for one of the largest banking institutions in the world. Though I am based in San Francisco, my banking network allows me to offer my loans anywhere in the continental United States. I specialize in residential mortgages and home equity products. I am familar with New York State guidelines, from Western New York through New York City, as well as my home state of California. Feel free to contact me for additional information regarding any mortgage product.

I know that if I had a choice, I would choose to patronize a business that has some connections to our community.
