There is no way i will let someone know where i keep my car. Just by looking on these forums someone can tell what a car has and know what to go for. Another calgary member had his garage broken into last year and specific parts stolen off his car because the people knew what they were after.
now tell me this, is it really smart to give out a location where your car can be seen on a regular basis over the internet? sure there are people who you trust and maybe you will run into them if they know where you ussually are but what about other people who look at this?
and yes i do drive a prelude as a daily driver, and i do like to make honda jokes about myself
at least i built my car from stock, and my prelude is worth more than your gtr so stfu
I barrely talk about my honda on here, i make the few small remarks but thats about it. And i just bought my car, and i know how much a nice gtr goes for. And unless you have a sweet set up than your going to be paying what i paid for my prelude.
btw, you have kouki rear oem aero, and oem side skirts. whats so “gtr” about that?
Its cause we work hard for what we have done to our cars. we don’t want people seeing where its located, esspecially certain people
There are actually alot of nissan guys in calgary. Just not on NECC cause its based out of edmonton.
Hrmm. Everyone seems pretty defensive, and I suppose that’s understandable. I think (but don’t know for sure) that Caithness was just trying to find out where he might see other NECC members driving their cars. I admit, I’ve been curious myself as to where the Calgary NECC people are, simply because I never see anyone.
Now, the line “I’d like to get as much info out of you fellow Calgarians as possible” is a little weird, but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I won’t attack him, I just won’t give anything away.
I’m not going to tell anyone here my home address, but Caithness didn’t tell anyone where he parks either. Just some of the major roads he’s on. I work downtown, so most of my driving is between the NW and downtown. I don’t think that’s giving away anything more than about a quarter million people already know, since since they’re driving beside me every day.
So I guess what I’m saying is that Caithness, no one here is going to give away too much until they trust you, so just keep that in mind when you’re looking for details about people who don’t know you.
I think this was a pretty innocent thread. Saying where you drive on a day-to-day basis isnt going to help thieves much.
But it sounds like there is some interest in starting Calgary meets again. If anyone wishes to do that, please PM me and I can give you guys some tips (we’ve been running them up here for several years now and trid a few different things, so we know what works and what doesn’t.) Or just start another thread and post up where you want to go.
