the rust on my car
impala 7 mpg, 37 year old bolts being seized
my truck, constent header leak from shitty gasket that no one makes a better one for, so i replace it every 6 months so I can still hear
not many performance parts available… which in turn means $$$$ for the ones that do exist. $7500 for a supercharger is a lot in my opinion.
thought of another one…
the fact that Dennis Yee’s wife thought 300ZX’s were made by Saturn when they first came out… :tear:
color of interior, the rust, and the gas milage
im speaking about the 94 blazer
Nissan:
Paint quality
Tire costs (though they are getting better all the time now that 17" and larger wheels are more common)
The condescending attitude of the service department at the dealership
FWD
Need to run 93 octane gas
tiny trunk and door openings
Too much back seat space, not enough trunk
high rear end makes visibility not-so-great when backing up
stock exhaust note is oh-so-econobox
cup holders are too small
shifter feels more like a video game than real life
drive by wire throttle + a way-too-heavy flywheel = very sluggish throttle response
Mazda:
Stock seats have no lateral support
no cargo space whatsoever
oil filter location leaves alot to be desired
wish it had ABS
lack of good tire choices in sizes that work best on the car (ie 14")
lifter tick
it doesnt run
thanks for reminding me bret…
the infamous nissan lifter tick…i hate it…
another good one…
everything for my car cost way too much!
did u buy from ray laks mits??offthe showroom?
THE FACT THAT IT TICKS OEM. THE FACT THAT 40 PLUS IT HAS A SHAKE THE FACT THAT ITS A POS CHEVY AND CHEVY IS WORTHLESS WITH THIS FUCKING CAR
WRX - Clutch chatter/1st gear hard to engage when near/below freezing out. One sliver rim.
SHO - Parts hard to find, ironically enough most reliable car I’ve even owned. Car has been in 3 accidents minimum. No interior left upto and including dashboard.
i forgot to mention the fact that ford fell in love with using plastic for 98% of the car when they designed it…snapping your shifter base right off the floor racing a ricer civic, going to the dealer and running over the warranty mileage on the way there then telling them my story = “well you obviously beat on the car then, and not only are we NOT going to cover the part and charge you $189 for it, but we further will blacklist you for car abuse for future referance”…
o and i said fuck that, went to a different dealer and bought a steel base for a mustang instead
my galant vr4: its a dsm and likes to be parked. And I get 160miles to a TANK
my sentra: Its slow and automatic and nissan paint SUX… and it likes to go through MAFs like I go through water.
That the window and headlight motors suck…
And the fact the tires won’t stop spinning.
quarterpanel rust
its a vw. it breaks all the time.
now pretending my car was all put together n running if i were to fix 1 thing it’d be the body/paint
Great thread Andy  .
MR2 - The N/A is too heavy (~2600), especially compared to the 1st. gen. MR2 (~2100). Too little hp stock (N/A - 135 hp), it needs around 150 minimum (I’m taking care of that part). Gearing (again N/A) is way too short, I have to shift constantly. Add to that, PO’s generally beat on the cars and 2nd and 3rd gears don’t like that, and grind prematurely (Cable shift). Parts cost can get out of hand, esp. because I know most of the parts are Celica interchangeable (the dealer assumes you don’t know this, and charges you up the cunt). Everytime you need any random MR2-specific part it has to be ordered 110% of the time. Dealer (I’m super anal, I only buy Genuine Toyota) NEVER has any parts in stock, and half the yahoos working at the parts dep. have never heard of an “MR2?”
Civic - Balls slow. Rusted like a mutha fucka. That is all.
I would just like to add, that I thoroughly enjoy the shit out of both my cars, and they both serve me extremely well, and these small pet peeves are more for the potential buyer to be aware of, as opposed to real inconveniences to me.
