1998 Dodge Dakota R/T:
generally speaking, i love almost evberything about my truck, EXEPT:
-i wish dodge would have went the extra mile and done 4 wheel disc brakes
-could use some sportier seats from the factory
-parts for the rear end, and u-joints are damn near impossible to get (90% of other dakota R/Ts do not have this issue…mine, which was #153 made, has a different rear end)
-the 1998 Dakota R/T ECU is different than every other year, and the Mopar Performance ECU for a 98 is discontinued and damn near impossible to find and the stock one is a lot of money to reflash
-OEM tires SUCK ASS!!!
-the stereo is shitty
-the transmission is a piece of shit
mostly these are little nit-picky things, but like i said, overall im very happy with the truck
2002 Chevy Blazer LS (Winter car/DD)
-its balls slow
-kinda small for me
-its a 2 door
-we cheaped out when we bought it and its NOT a ZR2
-brakes suck (compared to the R/T)
-steering is loose and ‘squishy’ (compared to the R/T)
-terrible blind spots
-sucks gas (quite possibly WORSE than the R/T)
i cant really complain at all, actually, cuz i got it for free lol
needs better damping (between all of the above it feels like a ball on the end of a spring when you go around corners)
stock seats are not very good at all: they sit too high, and if you use the height adjustment to lower them you get this big gap that opens up between the seat back and the seat bottom.
Not getting anywhere near the 37mpg I was hoping for (best I’ve seen so far is 31, but car doesn’t even have 3k on it yet, so not really broken in yet)
stock stereo is not anywhere near as good as what was in the Nissan
I’d like a torsen LSD for the winter
Miata:
attracts too much attention
the super-premium stock stereo is absolutely horrid
Combination of stock seat not low enough, and/or can’t raise the steering wheel high enough. Knees smacking the wheel are a major issue, especially if you are autocrossing or on the track and want to downshift using heel-toe.
Stock seats too wide for my ass. They must have been made for fat people, because I slide around in them all the time. If I detail the car I can’t put any kind of leather protectant on the seats because I’ll end up sitting in the passenger seat on most normal left hand turns. Less that ideal lumbar support. Head rests suck too. Replacing the seats is probably the next thing on my immediate list of things to change when I have some money burning a hole in my pocket.
It’s a civic hatch.
Sooo everyone and their fucking grandma revs at me. (never had this problem with a saab)
I am not :snky: on stock suspension and steelies.
I am stock.
:banghead:
also It has a litte rust
But other than that, It is great on gas and silly cheap to fix.
the black is a PAIN in the balls and i regret purchasing this color.
serious lack of traction…need more suspension work
want to reall CLEAN the car up, so it has show quality appeal to it. theres alota little blemishes that i need to attack
I HATE BLACK
I HATE BLACK
needs some dubs
Ttops woulda been cool, but im 50/50 on that.
welcome to the club haha. ive had 4 cars in my life, 3 of which have been black. i hate the color, but i somehow keep getting attracted to black. PITA to clean, but it looks soooo damn good when its clean. better look quick though, in less than 10 seconds it will be dirty again!
-i dont get any traction even with “performance rated” goodyear tires that are wearing out fairly quickly.
-i have a piece of my bellhousing by the slave cylinder and the support that connects between the missing piece and the motor is gone, no idea where it went, havent had any problems due to this but it worries me until i yank the motor for the 350
-i get the gas milage of a fullsize even with a “tuneup” and the fact that my truck is tiny and light.
i actually dont dislike anything about tC’s in general except maybe the weak clutch and heavy flywheel.
but my particular tC is another story. i dislike the fact i took a perfectly good daily driver and turned it into a toy that spends most of its time locked up in a garage. now i daily drive a 13 year old conversion van that gets 12 mpg on a good day, cant accelerate or corner for shit, and is slowly turning into a rust experiment. but hey atleast i can get a real daily driver when i pay off the tC in another 3 years. :roll2:
