What Good / Decent Sat Sig meter?

for reference sake: http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Accessories/Meters/SF95L-DSS-FTA-Satellite-Signal-meter.htm

Had one of the dishes moved to a new mast. I really think I need to spend some QT aiming it… have had some hit & miss signal issues in mildly inclement weather lately.

cant you just do it from the receiver ???

Wish I had gotten one of these for those times i was doing an install for me or someone else, or even when i had to do adjustments.

Whenever I did my DirecTV installs I used an old receiver and a 5" LCD TV. I dragged it onto the roof (I have a cape style home) and connected everything directly to the dish. I used the built in signal meter to aim the dish. That method works for me every time, and my signal is as close to perfect as I can get it using the receiver’s signal meter. As of now I only lose signal during a very heavy rainstorm.

the reciever does show a signal meter on the tv screens.

the rec’s meter is a bit slow to react.

it’s also in the house, and i have to get up on the roof to do the adjusting anyways. figured I’d try to eliminate having to have a cell phone while I was at it.

:gotme:

you supply the beer … im on the roof

a little to the left

Nick,

You just got serviced recently didn’t you? You should be under Intertech’s 90 day warranty. Call Intertech (625-8555) and tell them your having the same problem you did before and that you want me to come out.

PS: If you want a good meter anyway, go with either Channel Master, Accutrac, or a Sat Buddy. Everything else is garbage.
