+1

Good luck with it.

i would have gone with a wagon if anything

i like that. i dont know why, and i feel slightly “wrong” for liking it, but i like it haha

nice buy

Ain’t gonna set the word on fire, but it’s still pretty cool. Yeah, years ago PM did a Roadmaster wagon up, blacked out, dropped, GS badges, etc. Very cool car. I could never find a picture of one on the net anywhere but they were pushing it for a “Save The Wagons” giveaway.

I remember reading that some of these cars came with “little” LT1’s. Its not a 350 but actually a 2**. Anyone else hear of this? I remember reading this when I was looking for a doner LT1 for one of my projects.

L99

A 4.3 L version of the LT1, designated the L99, was introduced in 1994 for the Chevrolet Caprice. The bore was reduced to 102 mm and the stroke to 76 mm. Like the LT1, it features sequential fuel injection, reverse cooling, and an optical crank position sensor. Output is 200 hp and 245 ft-lbs.

The L99 (9.4:1 compression ratio) was available on the following vehicles:

1994-1996 Chevrolet Caprice (sedan only)
1994-1996 Chevrolet Caprice Police Package (sedan only)

lbs.

LT1

In 1992, GM created a new-generation small-block engine and again called it LT1 to recall the 1970 LT-1. It displaced 5.7 liters and was a 2-valve pushrod design, although a 4.3 liter variant known as the L99 was also offered beginning in 1994. The LT1 was unique with a reverse-flow cooling system which allowed for the engine to run at a higher compression. This was accomplished by cooling the heads first, thus reducing the risk for engine knock at the higher compression.

A high-performance version of the 1996 LT1 was called LT4 for use in all manual transmission 1996 Corvettes including the Corvette Grand Sport. In the Camaro and Firebird, the LT1 engine produced 275 hp and 325 ft-lbs, with the Corvette and Ram-Air Firebird getting 305 hp. The Camaro was up to 285 hp and 335 ft-lbs with this engine in the 1996 model year with the addition of dual catalytic converters. In the 1994 to 1996 B-body (Impala SS, Caprice and Roadmaster) and D-body (Fleetwood) version, the LT1 engine produced 260 hp and 330 ft-lbs.

This is what I’ve found. Just something to read I guess.

Actually all Roadmasters, Fleetwoods, Impalas and wagons (Caprice or Roadmaster) came with an Lt1 standard

Caprices on the other hand could have the L99 engine instead

Its always best to check the SPID label on the trunk lid to be sure , it would say of course “LT1”

I will get better pics after I clean it real good and its daytime of course : )
