well, i figure i should post this just to let everyone in on what my plans are for this summer. ive spent all winter hunting and gathering parts, and paying people to do things im not capable of doing. as is life.
anyway… i wanted mainly reliability with the option of bigger things down the road if my budget allows it for my bimmer. e30’s stock have an archaic ignition system running off of an afm. that had to go. i was doing some research and my best and most cost effective option (classier way of saying cheapest, it is a bimmer after all) was megasquirt.
i hate wiring, and im no good at it. luckly there was someone out there who would do the majority of it, even modify my throttle positioning sensor for a fee. i sent him my pre-purchased ms (thank you haenzel :)) and a sum of money and was sent back this…
the ms harness was sodered to the pins for the existing wiring in the car. a few simple mods had to be made, (tps, iats, ect) and it was ready to go. a wideband was also installed. (thank you gotdubd\DANHAGEN) the car now runs on a MAP sensor. it runs good, but needs a tune. suuuuper rich.
there are a few small things i need to finish up, but hopefully that should be set within the next coming weeks. i also purchased a new interior for it (anyone who rode in it last summer knows it needed it bad)
