what should i do?

Ok so i have a 95 Audi a90 quattro and love the way it looks and drives, but it is a tad slow for me, so after much thought i’ve decided on 3 options (at least my favorite 3) of what i should do come spring will either be:

  1. swap engines with a 1.8t and build it up slowly
  2. sell the car and buy something else (s4, sti, evo)
  3. buy a block and build my own 1.8t from the ground up

This will be my first major project and i can’t wait to start i just have to figure out what i want first haha, im leaning towards buying the block myself.

any advice/opinions?

  1. keep car you love and get a project

well thats the thing its 15 years old with 201k on it, if im keeping it i want to make it nice again, the interior and body are great but the drivetrain is meh…

Do you need to depend on this car as a DD? if so dont mod it.

Leave it as is or sell it. Anything else would be a waste of money.

.amen.

“only mod your car if you can afford to push it off of a cliff”

also, 1.8t’s are slow and gay

If its a DD, I wouldn’t mod it. If you are set on keeping the car, just find a cheap DD and build this one up from scratch

it’s not a dd i bought it as kind of a project car, and you can get a 1.8 up to ~500whp

This will get good.

:picard:

im sure you “can get a 1.8 up to ~500whp” but

  1. do you have the $$ to do that
  2. did you take into account the changes to the drivetrain that would be needed (diffs, axles, driveshaft, ect)
  3. do you have the $$ and skills to do all of the fabricating
  4. how are you going to run it, stock ecu or standalone
  5. do you have a ton of $$ sitting around? can i have some?

basically, you can make almost any motor put out 500 whp if you have the funds. the big question is, will it be worth it?

Definitely get a new car

Poll seems a bit biased.

  1. Get a real car

Preaching to the wrong choir there buddy!!!

As if anybody on here makes reasonable purchasing decisions when it comes to cars

19 - 0 - 0

Not a landslide or anything.

20 lol

the car has high mileage if it was me id sell it but it is your car though

Swap in a honda, only reasonable solution.

but really just buy a new car

thank you for stealing my avatar
