what people ask is one thing and what is actually payed is another. its not just subarus those deals are all over craigslist. i love hearing what people have to say when i ask them why the car is listed 2k more than kbb. my conclusion is some people think that their car is worth more just cuz they owned it.
Sad thing with Supras is that some of them have A LOT more miles than indicated. #2 stubby phillips+60 seconds=free milez for scumbags
Can you sneak around it and find a 92-X? When I bought my last car I was looking at them and I remember non Aero’s going for less than WRX’s at the time. I was looking hatchback only though. This was 2 years ago though.
I’m not looking for a bugeye, i actually think they are ugly as sin. i was just makig a rant on how i think people are retarted asking soo much for them, especially because they were going for 5-6k 2-3 years ago
I think that the new car prices are so high for the same type of car has something to do with it.
When some college kid cant get a loan for a new $38-40K STI, they go to the bank and get a loan for 90months on a $18K used STI a few years older. Then a year or so they want somethig else and still owe like 16K on the car, and they drove it everywhere so it started with 75Kmi and now has 98Kmi on it. Dudes gotta pay it off to sell it, BAM higher price.
Ask yourself how many of those crazy high asking prices have liens still on them. Stupid buyers = stupid sellers.
I hate when I can only agree with your statements. It is way more fun to get going on a crazy tangent.
/\ the bad part is most of my tangents are just as probable, just alot longer so its easy to find 1% to pick apart and argue on. Lol its all good though, tis only a discussion.
offer them $4700. wait 2 weeks becasue it wont sell, call them back and offer $4900 and settle on $5100.
markings on the engine would be concurrent with what a junkyard would put on there. Engine been swapped out??
I have seen this WRX out a few times being hooned. Had no idea it was an auto.
I think thats when the timing belt was replaced (TB= timing belt).
Ive seen alot of people put markings on an engine for general repairs, even oil changes, especially on older cars.
I have never in my life see anyone put maintenance records on an engine with markings.
But I have. Its kind of an old time practice. Ive seen a '56 Packard at a show that had the next oil change written on the radiator support for sometime in the '70’s and it was an all original never restored car.
Ive seen maintenance shit written on much newer cars before too.
Did not think of it, makes sense.
I’ve seen in a few times for air filters and the likes, seems more common with the older DIY crowd on mainly older cars with older customers.
