FS: 1998 Subie Impreza 2.5RS coupe** Hand me $5,000 and its your's**

I need to sell this ASAP, first person to hand me $5,000.00 gets a stock 2.5RS. I will not go lower.

Im looking to sell my 1998 2.5rs coupe. It has a few tasteful mods [intake, exhuast, ingnition] The body needs some work but its respectable for a 10year old car. Motor was recently rebuilt by the subaru dealership, and the car pulls hard through all the gears with AWD. The car just went over 100k this month, but runs great, auto tranny, awd with sport suspension is very secure, decent gas mileage. Intake is a custom short-ram, Exhaust is OBX-R, ingition is NGK-R plugs with STI wires. Car also has newer pirreli tires, pads, Tenzo-R rally seats [very comfy] and crow enterprises racing harness’s. This is a very reliable car that gets noticed, and will be a blast in winter. I’ve put over a grand in top of the line mods. The OBX-R cat-back is worth $500+ and has a great deep tone simular to the new 350z. People in the tuning industry know how rare this gold-rimmed RS is. If you want to know how fast it is, subie made this car to outperform the BMW 3-series, and the Civic Si.

Engine- EJ25D DOHC flat-4, so in fact it has 4 Cams, two for each cylinder bank.

Price without Seats, harness’s, and cat-back= $5,200 [can not afford to take lower]
Price without Seats, harness’s = $5,700 firm
Price with everything= $6,200 firm

Car comes with stock seats, stock exhaust, and stock air-box with filter.

Hahah…

I bought a 2002 WRX with the same mileage for the same price.

Good luck.

You’ve not paid attention to Subarus for long have you?

2.5RS coupes can pull close to bugeye WRX’s right now.

Supply and demand sir, supply and demand.

GLWS

SI01 is right, even with my few mods I can hold steady if not pull on a Bug-eye WRX. Loose some weight, and less than $1,000 worth of mods and a RS would beat you. Remember this car is much lighter and has an amazing torque curve. That and this is the rarest year, and the only one to get the JDM STI gold rims.

Makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

I’d never pay that much, especially with all the “luxuries” you get from a older car with less options and power.

even with my few mods I can hold steady if not pull on a Bug-eye WRX

LOL’ed hard at that.

2002 Subaru WRX:
Curb Weight: 3165 lbs
Horsepower: 227 hp
Torque: 217 ft-lbs
0-60 mph): 6.25 sec

1998 Subaru 2.5RS coupe:
Curb Weight: 2825 lbs.
Horsepower: 165 hp
Torque: 162 ft-lbs
0-60: 8.4 seconds

So your catback exhaust and intake is shaving more than 2 seconds off your 0-60 time? Or do those seats add like 50 horse?

Besides… If i threw $1000 in my car I can actually make something out of it.

Rarity aside… Practicality… why would you pay the same for less?

Well, I was just in the market for these, and I saw quite a few worse examples for around the same price.

Be prepared for a long wait on the sale though. GL.

You underestimate the Subie RS. I’m just looking to get out what I put in, in fact I’m lossing money. Do you know how much it is for Northtowne Subaru to rebuild one of these engines? Believe me its a fair price, well below what they want for stock ones on AutoTrader.

Btw allready stripped 35pds [easy] with new seats, stero, exhaust, etc.
Intake pulls air directly through hood vent approx 7hp, OBX exhaust gains 8 hp, New STI wires + NGK plugs approx 5-6hp. Now that puts me at 2795pds, with approx 186hp.

My RS- 1hp per 15lbs with no turbo lag and better hp/torque ratio

Stock '02 WRX- 1hp per 14lbs with turbo lag and horrible low end torque thanks to the 2.0 SOHC engine.

I’m not saying that my car is better, but its equal to your bugeye, so please don’t smash it.:whogives:

kk good luck.

just an fyi tenzo r seats and obx hard parts dont count as “top quality mods”…

It’s high mileage.
It’s auto
It’s pretty rotted.
The wheels are spray painted.
An engine rebuild means nothing.

Modding a car is NOT an investment, it is considered a loss of money.

No offense but you won’t see 7k for this.

GLWS

Yea, I just want to clarify that modding a car usually decreases its value.

The wheels aren’t spray-painted, they come stock exactly the way they are. And are the same wheels on the 1998 JDM STI.

If modding a car decreases its value i’ll spend a day swapping out everything aftermarket and put the stock back in. I’ve kept everything, then i’ll sell it for what they are asking on autotrader. Which is more than I’m asking for this mileage.

He didnt mean PULL like in a race… He meant value wise. RETARDS

…put it back to stock and lower the price dramatically and i might be interested.

has the headgasket been done on the car? 2.5 = major headgasket problem from what i hear.

I need atleast $5,900. I’m in major credit card/ student loan debt.

Whoever buys will get a bill of sale for 100 bucks to save on taxes and shit, but I need the money.

And yes the headgasket was re-done less than 4k ago with the engine rebuild.

To sobo’s past post, its almost as fast, their is no turbo lag. I looks a hell of alot better than a bug-eye, engine has more pontential, and gets better gas-mileage and you don’t have to use premium. This is a great project car or daily driver for winter and to beat on.

Wow. I don’t think SI01 was talking about racing. At all.

LOL

Headgasket was done with rebuild. The lowest I can go dead stock is $5,200. I need the money.

just because you need the money doesnt mean your car is worth it…

sometimes in life things dont work out as planned and you have to take a loss, however big or small

Agreed.
I have seen this car in person several times.

I have also driven bugeye wrx’s, and auto 2.5rs’s and I know there is no comparison. Wrx’s blow them out of the water.

wernt’ you at southgate and i was talking to you about my friends talon, and you paid $4,000 for this car… anyways glws if you wanted less for it i might buy it…
