This is all based off the LS1… so should be neat
So I totaled my SS about a month ago and haven’t decided hat to do woth the drive train yet. This seems like an interesting prospect.

it does seem like an interesting project. It would suck to have something that looked so fast and was so slow though…
I love the gtm. There are “gtm kits” all the time on eBay.
Someone in Bristol, PA puts them together from wrecked c5’s.
They’re on eBay for about 5K and give you the suspension, mirrors,
wiring, steering column, and a bunch of other stuff.
I’ll bet Pewter could find you a wrecked c5 if you are serious.
the porsche transaxle is expensive. That alone is 5k.
It seems like people have at least 50 or 60k into them by the time the project is finished. But they are badass.
buy the porsche transaxle with the rest of the porsche installed.
Those are badass cars Russ, build one
im working on finishing up my second one right now. Anything with around 400hp and only weighs 2500 lbs is going to be fast.
There are a lot of things about the kits that arn’t really that great. The doors and power windows are a nightmare to say the least. When you recieve the kit go ahead and throw all the factory five shifter, linkage and related hardware in the trash. It doesn’t work no matter how much time you spend trying. Go with a cable shifter, they have ready made kits for the GTM and is very simple to install and adjust.
If you have any other questions just let me know.
x2. You could get a nice early nineties Turbo 911 for about what you’d have in this project.
no russ…there to much $
